The main audience for lemmy is disgruntled former redditors so that's to be expected, but that's also the nice thing about being able to pick and choose which communities you interact with.
Reddit is fucked, all social media the rich have their hooks into and they have no short term incentive to run it ethically.
r/theredleft is still a sub i lurk on even though i vowed to myself that i'll never actually interact with anything on reddit
4chan, despite their whining, are probably the most obvious and biggest users of reddit. Why wouldn't they be? Reddit is friendly to everything 90% of 4chan posters want to talk about. For the rest, they have 4chan.
A bunch of 4channers are people banned from r*ddit who then shit up 4chan even more than it can already be shitted up. There's a noticeable change when a major ban occurs over there, such as when the incel sub got banned. The other major events were the 2016 election and Gamergate.

Not surprising, but I dont think CIA run Reddit is waiting for legitimate reasons to ban leftist subs. They will use any opportunities like this to do what they already wanted to do but with less backlash.

Why would 4chan even care about the deprogram? The median age of that sub must be 15, and they were gonna get themselves banned soon enough anyway.
