Price of coffee (and cocoa) is going up everywhere in the world due to climate impacts. Tarrifs are a double whammy for the US tho.

I bought coffee yesterday at Costco, and it was about 25% more expensive than the last time I bought it.
Would you be willing to share what you bought and the price, please? No is okay.
I'm also curious what people outside the USA normally pay, especially in growing states.

I saw this coming and switched to cheap tea in May. I regret nothing.
I do both, but mostly the tea is just to stretch out the coffee supply. e.g. Instead of making a second up of coffee, I'll make tea instead.
I wonder if you could buy directly from the producer. They'd benefit from it, I'd benefit from it, and roasting seems like a fun thing to do.

the producers wouldn't. that would be the same as going to a farm that typically sells 1000s of lbs of zucchini, and asking for enough for supper.
you wouldn't be worth their time, no offense.. they are in it for the bulk purchases.
I'm talking a bout a coffe sac, 30 or 60 kilos. Not a 250 gram package 😋
They get paid under 4€/kilo. The price for mediocre coffee where I live is 18-20€/kilo.
I buy Republic Tea straight from their website. Last order cost me 12.50. And the time before that was 11.75. So definitely price has increased.
Roasting is fun! Not sure about buying directly from the farms, but I suspect most people get their green beans from an importer. I usually use BurmanCoffee.com, but SweetMarias.com is also very popular.
I have looked around and green beans are as expensive as roasted here 🤷🏼♀️. I read somewhere the farmers get ridiculously low prices, and there is lots of speculation that raised prices (plus packaging, supermarkets benefits etc etc) so why not cut out the middle man?

I've been getting Rio Grande Roasters coffee online for a couple years now. It's about 10-11 dollars a pound for whole bean, sold in three pound bags. They've changed their free shipping this year, so in order to hit the minimum, be sure and add a sticker to your order of two bags.
