What I believe is going on:

First clue is the title: "Trendlocity", which is a mashup of Trend and Velocity which likely hints that this has something to do with the speed at which trends emerge.

Second clue is the first word of dialogue, which refers to mood rings which were a fad from the 1970s.

3rd clue is the character in the red vest's hat changes in each frame that he's in:

I'm not super familiar with when any of these may have been entered popular imagination, but this may reflect the trendiness of these various hat styles.

4th clue: The character or cosplay in the center frame with the wide oval face, large eyes, and fur surrounding the face resembles a Labubu, which was this year's fad toy.

5th clue: The "Raymon" hint that the red vest character has on a sign, reminds the foreground character of what the center oval face character is a reference to.

The name "Raymon" resembles the typical name format for a monster in a Japanese monster raising game, such as Pokemon and Digimon.

Persons above a certain age who didn't play the games, or persons who played earlier versions of the games may not be familiar with some of the monsters in the games.

The foreground character in the center frame is unable to name the character or cosplay reference.

In the last frame, the foreground character sees red vest's hint, and is able to name the character, or character reference in the oval face character's cosplay, giving him relief over the anxiety of not being able to name the character or reference.

This awkward situation that the foreground character finds themselves resembles meeting someone they have met before, and not being able to remember their name, but with the transposition of obscure references to videogames and fads on the situation.

Ergo humor has been wrought.

Good show by Meisei, Ura,

Congrats on getting their kachikoshi to Nishikifuji, Yoshinofuji who got another big scalp!

This kid might be good... It's nice to see a new generation of solid rikishi emerging.

Happy Birthday to Kotozakura! And he got a nice fat stack of envelopes!

Crazy day of upsets! Very Excite indeed!

Tonari No Yokai-san A heart warming take on an alternate universe where Yokai, Japanese mythological critters, live and work alongside regular humans. We see them get involved in regular life, and mythological events. It's really great!

Liverpool matches are art? Not lately...

No, but sometimes I feel like I'm talking to thin air.

Theme of the day: Hatakikomi

Match of the Day: Tamawashi vs Oho, Aonishiki vs Hiradoumi

Good show by Tokihayate, Churanoumi, Midorifuji, Ura, Kotozakura

I could hear the beatdown that Abi gave Kotoshoho

Congrats to Aonishiki for getting his kachikoshi!

Yes I noticed that too. Good catch!

King obviously didn't want the other heroes to worry about becoming collateral damage when he attacks, so he quietly took off to his own route.

What a guy!

I'm shocked that Hopeman took the minion's word for it at face value.

The Evil Org and Hopeman really do have a working relationship.

The reference to the attacks being scheduled on Wednesdays was odd.

Super Hero Time when the Kamen Rider and Super Sentai shows air is on Sunday.

Good show by Hatsuyama coming up from J5, Tobizaru, Wakamotoharu

Mitakeumi has suddenly woken up these last couple of days.

Shishi unable to figure out what to do with his handlock, and Midorifuji used it against him for a successful throw.

Takayasu found a strategy against Hakuoho, and got his first win against him in 4 tries.

I thought Kotozakura was close to getting loss or a Mono-ii, but the gyoji and shimpan got it right, and his heel never touched the ground outside the ring.

Tamawashi unlucky, but there's a reason why Onosato is a Yoko: Incredible agility for his size, and awareness for his age.

I agree with those 3 other matches you mentioned, but I want to spread the love around...

No, the match had already been decided well before the photo, but I'm giving kudos to Ryuuden for consideration for the safety of the opponent who had just defeated him.

Falling off the raised dohyo, which is only used for competition, is a major source of injuries.
