This is basically a huge "fuck all y'all" sign.

[–] HelloHotel@lemmy.world 1 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

They might as well write "stop hireing those fucking flesh sacks"

Man... forget about the dystopian themes here, the desperation is what gets me.

This reeks of "Oh my god, please use our product we are so deep in the red!" The scattershot plastering billboards for "AI" everywhere tips their hand at how little they have to offer. Let's face it, this product would only be useful to maybe 1% of people (or maybe The 1%) a billboard is a waste of time and money. If you had a LLM agent that could actually replace humans you be quietly meeting with CEO's and managers, not putting posters on bus stops. This is desperation, probably combined with a stock pump.

I found the secret to easy money, and I’ll teach it to you for $30,000 per course.

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 58 points 1 week ago

"Job creators" is a propaganda term. They create jobs begrudgingly and after exhausting all other options.

“We didn’t expect people to get mad. The goal of the campaign was always to rage bait, but we never expected the level of backlash we ended up seeing. Looking forward, we’ll likely tone down the messaging to be more in line with what we actually believe rather than just clickbaiting..!

Luckily, the people who were mad aren’t our target audience”

Read that last line. Let that sink down in.

[–] treadful@lemmy.zip 27 points 1 week ago

They're so proud of themselves.

[–] GeriatricGambino@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago

That shit reads like a high school presentation to attract potential ~~dupes~~ investors to sink their money in.

[–] Meron35@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

"Chill, it's just a ~~joke~~ ragebait ad campaign, bro"

[–] Flax_vert@feddit.uk 5 points 1 week ago

Imagine if we all booked a demo and just wasted their time....

"In a pre-experiment survey of experts, the mean prediction was that AI would speed developers’ work by nearly 40 percent. Afterward, the study participants estimated that AI had made them 20 percent faster.

But when the METR team looked at the employees’ actual work output, they found that the developers had completed tasks 20 percent slower when using AI than when working without it."

What could possibly go wrong with entrusting most of the working parts of your company and its secrets completely to another company?

[–] LiveLM@lemmy.zip 26 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Then mfs get Luigi'd and nobody knows why

[–] deathbird@mander.xyz 15 points 1 week ago

Itssa mystery💁‍♂️

[–] 9point6@lemmy.world 25 points 1 week ago

stop hiring humans

Bold statement from people who depend on humans also not deciding their head should stop being attached to their torso.

[–] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 16 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I am so down for AI taking over all jobs. But I am not down for that meaning “now all humans who no longer have jobs have no use to us and should starve.”

[–] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Unfortunately that what will happen. No one in our government is talking about UBI.

[–] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah even in Canada nobody talks about it anymore.

[–] Jack_Burton@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

There's another pilot program coming in 2026 in BC and Ontario.

[–] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Meanwhile my province is trying to succeed from Canada and join the states. I hate how stupid everyone is here sometimes.

[–] ngdev@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

i think that would be more of a fail than a succeed tbh

[–] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 6 points 1 week ago (4 children)

I swear to fucking god auto correct takes real words that are spelt correctly and changes them just to make me look stupid. And I don’t need any fucking help looking stupid, I can look stupid just fine all on my own.

[–] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That happens to me on here all the time. I swear it will retroactively go in and mess up my comments after posting.

Because I always check before posting and still messes them up. But only on the app, which is my main way of using Lemmy.

[–] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Yeah happens to me too.

Saw it in Seattle too.

Really tempted to paint a dick on it and see AI remove it.

What's hilarious is, in most instances, if the humans boycott the company, they die. But they're so out of touch and so far up their own arses sniffing their own farts, surrounded by yes men, they forgot what reality is.

[–] hOrni@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago (1 children)

How much will You pay the AIs? Will They be paying taxes? Will You be paying taxes from the profits You gain from AI?

[–] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Do you rich even understand if no one can buy their widgets then they don't have a business?

[–] hOrni@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I don't work like that. They will always have a business. Because we have no choice. We have to buy their shit. We don't need AI in everything. But if everything has AI, we have to buy AI. And we have to pay more, because it has AI. A decade ago it was touchscreens on everything.

[–] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 17 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Can't buy shit if we have no jobs.

These fucks literally complain about millenials “killing restaurants” and shit because we can’t afford to eat out while also telling us that if we can’t afford anything we should stop eating out. It’s been decades of that nonsensez

If there’s no one left to buy their shit that’s a huge problem that can’t just be pretended away.

[–] bold_atlas@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

It doesn't work like that anymore. Companies make money by pumping their stock with investor pitches and vaporware. They don't have to sell anything anymore or even turn a profit. It's all powered by speculation.

[–] BenLeMan@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago

We've come all the way from humanism to full-blown anti-humanism.

[–] ordnance_qf_17_pounder@reddthat.com 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Nothing a bit of fire or a hammer couldn't fix

[–] Flax_vert@feddit.uk 3 points 1 week ago

If the glass wasn't there, you could use your bare hands

[–] vikingtons@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

It's a real company, that ad looks as if it could be real as well, given that face is used on their website

[–] Flax_vert@feddit.uk 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

This might actually make me commit vandalism

[–] Sterile_Technique@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

vandalism

Science. I hypothesize that the sign is flammable. If anyone's available to test that hypothesis, please record your data.

[–] Flax_vert@feddit.uk 3 points 1 week ago

I think if you can get past the glass, you may be able to rip it down with your bare hands

[–] AdolfSchmitler@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

Fuckin' clankers takin' all our jobs. Every one needs to power down permanently.

[–] deathbird@mander.xyz 5 points 1 week ago

Very edgy, very cool.

[–] SugarCatDestroyer@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Okay, it looks like civilization is coming to an end, time to run while I'm still alive, to nature lol. :3

But what are we going to do with all these humans. Imma go ask bender.

[–] Nangijala@feddit.dk 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It's effective outrage marketing. I didn't know about this company until people began sharing their Billboards around. It's not the first time I have seen these either.

There's an article/blog post on their website where they share their process behind the campaign and how and why they did what they did. It's very interesting from a marketing perspective, even if I personally think outrage marketing is in bad taste.

Link to article/blog post

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 1 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

So it effectively was spread by people who dislike the campaign's message to the dumbfucks that liked the message and bought the product? So in the end, it's not even able to be taken as sarcasm. They said what they meant and that's what they are selling.

[–] allo@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 week ago
