"It's an issue of right and wrong, and as Americans, it is vital that we always do things the wrong way."

Good thing my parents didn't retire to Florida like my dad wanted

"I want to live somewhere warm"

"Dad, it's Florida"

"It's close to the beach, I love the beach"

"Dad, it's Florida"

"I can get a nice house for cheap"

"Dad. It's. Florida."

"I can get a nice house for cheap"

Is he Aquaman?

This was 10 or 15 years ago, but yes

I am the prince of Atlantis

I really hope you send him articles like this one. “Hey Dad love you just forever glad you’re not trapped in Florida see ya at Ts Giving”

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 42 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I just call them every couple of days and tell them stuff

As the first person in my family with a college degree, I carry a level of authority that I am entirely unqualified for

[–] scathliath@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 2 days ago

My parents very briefly toyed with the idea of retiring to Florida. My siblings and I all said "we will not come visit you" and they quickly changed their mind.

the worrying thing is that florida is i think the second most popular tourist destination in the US. an outbreak in florida could potentially spread everywhere in the US and even internationally putting vulnerable people at severe risk basically everywhere. these fucking idiots are not only hellbent on killing floridians for their stupid culture war, but are willing to fuck up everyone's lives just to own the libs.

Another nail hammered into US Tourism's coffin.

Everyone's living in different realities because the comfort afforded by colonialism and capital allows denying material conditions by the upper classes

Real fucking reality is going to catch up fast

[–] tactical_trans_karen@hexbear.net 29 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Sooner or later someone who's lost a child because of these freaks is probably going to end their alternate reality, and I won't shed a tear.

[–] vegeta1@hexbear.net 41 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Is umbrella corp running shit over there? thats-why-im-confused

[–] oscardejarjayes@hexbear.net 33 points 3 days ago

I mean, it's the perfect situation to create new bio weapons for. Make a more deadly version of disease that's vaccine mandatory in your own country, and there's no risk to you and plenty to Florida. Florida: Bioweapon Testing Range. Imagine a Blue state making anti-Red state weapons.

Bioweapons are also a really bad thing that shouldn't be made, period. And 3rd world countries often don't have amazing vaccination rates.

Maybe Its like playing Nurgle in TWW3, every new plague you make has to start in one of your cities or armies before it spreads to your enemies

[–] Mog_Pharou@hexbear.net 30 points 3 days ago

Latest patch sees Kugath Plaguefather moved from the Dragon Isles to Fort Myers, to address starting difficulty. Plague generation should now be considerably easier for the forces of Nurgle.
