What technique?
He finds patterns and cuts the wood with a scroll saw.
That's amazing. What's it made from?
I'm not sure what kind of wood. There's a workshop in the complex and he generally picks whatever's there.
OK, wood. I think that answers the core of the question.
Woah! This is already impressive, now youβre telling us heβs 98?!?
Yeah, he keeps his scroll saw in his bedroom and tools in the living room.
Very impressive!
Wow, this is woodwork? The fit is amazing, I thought it must be clay or something!
ol' timer wood workers using a scroll saw is a thing of wonder to behold.
98 in unbelievably old for a butterfly, this has to be a world record!
Is that wood???
Yes
It's as beautiful as it is impressive. I thought it was craft foam sheets until I zoomed in and saw painted woodgrain. I could hardly believe what delicate, soft edges he created with such precision. Truly amazing.
What stands out to me is the perfection of the symmetry. I know he probably cut the 2 sides together, but there are zero mistakes I can spot.
I misread that as last creation. I'm so glad I re-read lol
Absolutely beautiful work!! If my current trajectory is anything to go by, if I make it to 98, I'm pretty sure I won't have the energy to roll out of bed, let alone craft something so magnificent.
Awesome!
I'm also going to be crafting for money if I live to 98.
'murica.
Wow, what are the dimensions roughly?
Oooh, intarsia. Looks great!
It almost looks like this would come apart to function as a puzzle :o
He's got some kind of backing that keeps it together.
wow, gorgeous... I wish I can get to that skill level, or to 98 hehehe
How did i know it was gonna be some crazy scroll saw art before even opening this post? old wood workers love a scroll saw...
Tell us it's a cake!
Media won't load for me so I'll just assume it's a baby.
Great job pops!
Wow, that's awesome! π
Wow, he should have found time to work on something else meanwhile.
Well, he has a new girlfriend, so....
