But how hard is it to clean the inevitable fur and hairball puke?

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 92 points 5 days ago (2 children)
[–] navi@lemmy.tespia.org 146 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Exactly this.

I had the bed in OPs meme and it was great at first! My cats loved it, they zoomed through day and night. Then one day I noticed only one of the cats would enter at a time and only while I wasn't looking. Eventually I found out one of our cats was holding politically extreme meetings under the bed which eventually resulted in an attempted coup d'etat.

Anyways, great bed. My cats run my house now and I get to sleep under the bed in a cool maze!

how did you come up with this on the spot? Psychedelics? (Serious question)

[–] Lupus@feddit.org 21 points 4 days ago

Some people just have silly minds. I tirelessly endeavor to be more like them.

[–] navi@lemmy.tespia.org 6 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I was pooping and I had a free minute to practice comedy!

Seems like you'd just lift up the mattress like they did for this picture.

[–] errer@lemmy.world 57 points 5 days ago (5 children)

Lifting out a mattress to clean is a huge pain in the ass

Woah Woah

You do not need pets to vacuum out under your bed

[–] trxxruraxvr@lemmy.world 10 points 5 days ago

I don't need to lift my mattress to vacuum under the bed either

[–] CmdrShepard49@sh.itjust.works 10 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Of course you don't need pets for that. You just need a vacuum.

Why would I vacuum under my bed? That's where I shove items when I pretend like I'm cleaning the house.

Some beds have storage underneath. They have a lift mechanism that lifts the whole mattress. If you used one of those as a base, then cleaning gets a lot easier.

the cats are gonna take up the whole bed and then you'll be forced to sleep in the maze

[–] SkunkWorkz@lemmy.world 40 points 5 days ago

more like this because my cat is too dumb to find the exit:

[–] Bluewing@lemmy.world 32 points 4 days ago (1 children)

No absolutely not!

The little orange Zip is already dragging socks under the bed to fight. I would never be able to get them back

[–] Flax_vert@feddit.uk 7 points 4 days ago (1 children)
[–] Bluewing@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago

She is a whirl-wind of terror for sure.

[–] rumba@lemmy.zip 21 points 4 days ago

[–] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 10 points 5 days ago

Great place to store small dead animals

[–] TipsyMcGee@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 4 days ago

I was just wondering what kind of billionaire mansion people would have to live in to not use the space under their bed for storage

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 35 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Try to give them medicine once and you'll be lifting the box spring and mattress off late at night! I guarantee it...

[–] Bonesince1997@lemmy.world 8 points 5 days ago

Before attempting such things (with or without this crazy setup), it is best to block all escapes/hiding spots, like closing a door to a room with these risks.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 30 points 5 days ago

My dumbass cats would get lost down there and we'd have to let them out twice a night

[–] bear@lemmy.blahaj.zone 28 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Do you want a spider empire? Because this is how you get a spider empire.

[–] SW42@lemmy.world 31 points 5 days ago

Not if the cat overlords roam the labyrinth. If it moves its free game :)

[–] ohellidk@sh.itjust.works 22 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

"hackhackhackhack"....Oh shit!

[–] SW42@lemmy.world 21 points 5 days ago (2 children)

This is the stupidest idea I’ve ever seen - I love it!

[–] danc4498@lemmy.world 12 points 5 days ago

Stupid idea but great execution

[–] Strider@lemmy.world 19 points 5 days ago

Taking apart the bed at night because they brought a mouse there.

Nice.

[–] limelight79@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

Maybe my cats are weird, but I've never really had the 2 am zoomie issue. One spends most of the night by my feet. I don't know what the other two usually do, but if I get up to use the bathroom, I'll often see them lounging in the hallway, like they're holding a meeting.

[–] aeternum@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 4 days ago

Is there a /c/zoomies yet? This would provide the community with content for years

[–] driving_crooner@lemmy.eco.br 6 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

More like: Cats at 3AM all over your face.

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 9 points 5 days ago

That's cats regardless of bed trappings

Yeah, that’s what you need to hear at 2 AM.

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 8 points 5 days ago

One of our cats would go in and we would never see her again...

[–] lapislazuli@sopuli.xyz 5 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

And neither of yous will be getting any sleep. 🙃

[–] InternetCitizen2@lemmy.world 7 points 5 days ago (2 children)

And its not too dark for them in the interior?
