This Country cannot be WOKE, because WOKE IS BROKE. We have the 'HOTTEST' Country in the World, and we want people to talk about it, including in our Museums

This man is the president of the United States.

[–] ObviouslyNotBanana@piefed.world 60 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (2 children)

It's only HOT because of global warming

[–] xiwi@lemmy.dbzer0.com 23 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

[–] ObviouslyNotBanana@piefed.world 15 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

No, that's too stupid, even for him, to be a direct quo . . . No he actually said it

[–] unconsequential@slrpnk.net 27 points 2 weeks ago

We live in a post satire world. I can’t tell what’s the onion and what isn’t anymore.

Damn, I hadn’t noticed the block quote and thought you were that guy on Lemmy who mocks him.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 9 points 2 weeks ago

We have the ‘HOTTEST’ Country in the World

The climate crisis is making it 'HOTTER' but it's still not the hottest.

[–] ameancow@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago

It might be time to admit that the Union is over. 200+ years is not a bad stretch for a nation. But when the very nature of its culture and structure allows this kind of "representation" to lead it, we need to all admit that it's not just a wee lil' fracture we need to fix, the whole thing is shattered and laying in a pool of blood.

I for one am going to be seeking citizenship in the Cascadian States, hopefully we will have enough money and naval bases to defend against the Bezos Collective's drones and the Muksavites should they ever set aside their feud long enough to mount a proper offensive.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago

This man is the president of the United States.

Yup. Pretty bleak reminder that our culture is rotten to the core.

[–] UltraMagnus0001@lemmy.world 22 points 2 weeks ago

Laura Loomer? Although I don't know if she knows about them either

Reminder that Trump's father marched with the KKK. Like father, like son.

Complains about a history museum not focusing enough on the future.... It's whole purpose is to tell the story of the past leading up till now. If he wants to know about African Americans in space go to the space and rocket museum or NASA or hell I'm sure the Smithsonian even has exhibits. But what does he expect to see.

Near 100 years African Americans couldn't vote, more than 100 years Women couldn't vote, and decades of voter suppression of both groups after that. Less than 250 years to work with, oppression is going to show up in chunks of it. Especially when 69 million Women could face troubles voting again if the Save Act goes into effect, and already passed Congress. That's about 20% of our country... Or to put it in terms of comparison, all of the UK, more than the entire population of France or ~210 of the 230 countries in the world.

[–] aarRJaay@lemmy.world 14 points 2 weeks ago

African Americans and Women's aren't allowed in space. That would be a DEI hire

[–] Blumpkinhead@lemmy.world 65 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

"Nothing about Success, nothing about Brightness, nothing about the Future," claimed Trump. "

It's a museum, you human sweatpant boner. It's literally all about the past.

The famous bright slavery success story of tomorrow

[–] Noodle07@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago

Any day now

[–] socsa@piefed.social 14 points 2 weeks ago

Dude could also have just said he's literally never been to a museum. The Smithsonian has tons of uplifting history exhibits.

[–] Weirdmusic@lemmy.world 38 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

There are only three things you need to know about Trump: (1) he always fails, (2) he always lies and (3) he always chickens out.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 17 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (5 children)

He fails, but he fails upwards. That's been his whole life.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 11 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

That's because our society has been designed to allow the wealthy to fail upwards.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 10 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (2 children)

True, but just how hard he fails upwards is truly exceptional.

[–] SabinStargem@lemmy.today 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I wish that gravity fails and sends him into space.

Ohhhh snap! I'm literally 100% totally absolutely all completely shocked they're gonna white wash slavery.

[–] Xanthrax@lemmy.world 17 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Dog, have you heard of "black fatigue" recently? Racists are having a "mask off moment," again, for sure.

[–] unconsequential@slrpnk.net 11 points 2 weeks ago

Yeah first time I heard that term I was like “well yeah after consistently fighting for emancipation, civil rights, and combating systemic racism for generations I’d be tired too…” then I learned how and who was using it and I was like woah wtf is this nonsense ?!

Can you imagine being dumb enough to still believe things this dip shit says? Let alone that museums are out of control.

The stupidity of conservatives never hits rock bottom.

Ah look, the continuation of proving that we lost the Civil War 160 years later. This is one of the major tenets of the Lost Cause myth of the confederacy.

I'm sure I'm going to get banned somewhere by constantly saying this because some conservative snowflake is going to cry I said nasty things about traitors from a century ago, but one of the top 10 worst things the US did for the long run was not publicly hang every confederate officer and instead let them go around and let them cry that they were being bullied for ~~states rights~~ enslaving people.

[–] selkiesidhe@sh.itjust.works 15 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

The Pedo Party really wants to make slavery a thing again...

Capitalism and trickle-down is the closest they're getting, they want that last step to being able to physically OWN people.

🖕🤬🖕

Idk i was always proud to be from the country that soaked it's soil in slaver blood, at least until jackasses like this started acting like it wasn't that bad

[–] But_my_mom_says_im_cool@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Maybe your country would not have such an ugly history if it wasn’t such a shithole

[–] null_dot@lemmy.dbzer0.com 22 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I dont think the US has a monopoly on shitty history, but only the US is trying to bring it back.
