This is another strong reason why I won't touch TikTok ever. Hell, if I could block Youtube Shorts from being suggested/pushed, I would be forever grateful. 'No, I do not want to watch a 10-15 second video of your opinion of a movie.'

You can block YouTube Shorts with Revanced if you have Android.

Even better! Not sure about chrome but firefox has two good extensions: "Youtube-shorts block" and "Hide Youtube-shorts"

I find shorts less of an existential threat. I think most YouTubers came to realization it wasn't really doing anything for their income even with view inflation.
