Come to think of it - did he have permission in that scene? Anyway - permission or not - nobody would ever question him in that vest.

No, he stole someone's badge

[–] Finger@hexbear.net 13 points 1 month ago

Yes I did, I am the Security Consultant.

Honestly with that face and attitude I don’t even think the vest is required.

A walkie talkie doesn’t hurt.

Yep.

The way to immediately make yourself not worth interacting with.

I do find issue with the clipboard tho.

Guys doing actual manual labor don't carry clipboards. I don't nt need a clipboard to snake a sewer line.

"Contractor got caught using the wrong pipes for the sprinkler systems for three buildings. Have to check to see if this is number four."

You're not a laborer but a supervisor or inspector to play the part

Just like how you can park in the Veterans-only spots if you wear Carharrt and can force a thousand-yard stare

Put a USMC decal on the back window of an F150 and no one will ever question it

park in the Veterans-only spots

Every day I think my opinion of America cannot get any lower, then I see some shit like this, and it does.

I swear to god. When was the last time the US military did something that shouldn't cause a decent person to view them with contempt?

[–] Cat_Daddy@hexbear.net 27 points 1 month ago

Act like you belong, walk swiftly with your head up, and nobody will question it.

This is literally how Banksy gets into places he shouldn’t be to do his art.

This is how I've been getting perennials from buildings that are in the process of being sold. Whenever the building is purchased by whomever they just rip everything out or tear it down. So I'm getting some free plants. People don't think twice when you wear the vest.

Throw some business cards in your pocket for a real company with their general line on it, and you’re good to go

"Sigh... Good job Agent 47 on once again choosing to bring a high visibility vest and a toolbox."

[–] Imnecomrade@hexbear.net 11 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Hey, I don't work here

I don't even need to wear anything remotely professional to be asked if I worked at places. The same happens to my spouse.

one of the more difficult pieces (and expensive) of the kit for the true completionist is the standard cab pickup truck. ford, chevy, dodge still make them, but they are not sold standard retail. they must be ordered through a fleet account.

you can purchase old fleet vehicles, though they will probably be beat to shit. not that this matters, but thanks for coming to my TED talk about how every truck sold off a car lot in america now has to be with an obscene amount of overpriced options at even the most basic trim, plus some extra bullshit while also not even being a truck anymore, because it now a four door, seats 5 people and doesn't have enough room in that baby bed for anything but your mountain bike.

is that a picture of a real guy thats fucked with to look like a render or is it a render and "IRL" loading screens is a goddamned liar

[–] jack@hexbear.net 6 points 1 month ago

"Jim called me" is extremely powerful. I deal with facilities/operations guys at industrial sites every day and a solid 25% of them are named Jim.

Of course, every strategy benefits from research beforehand. Identify loading docks, which always have less security than the front door, and do a little research on LinkedIn first - get the actual names of some guys running the site.
