Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.

Rules:

-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --

-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --

-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --

-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today/ . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --

-- Mass tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken markov chain bot will result in a comm ban--

-- Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.--

-- Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned. --

-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --

I haven't been religious in two decades but now I'm praying daily that the Epstein files lead to the balkanization of the US

Kinda surprising honestly, you'd figure knowing their base that some nobody GOP congress ghouls would be wary of one of their frothingfash constituents the-doohickey voicing their displeasure at them because of this like the brain melted Q dude that whacked that mob boss years ago

[–] Damarcusart@hexbear.net 15 points 1 month ago

That dude is way more likely to shoot up a school or blame immigrants for this and they know it, they caused that guy to think that way.

211 seems like a low-ball for pedos in congress.

Libs knew they wouldn't need to vote against

[–] Des@hexbear.net 30 points 1 month ago (1 children)

lol more more more. let them stand firmly, spears planted in the ground. not one more step, don't break formation! we must protect our glorious pedo rulers!

T minus how many days until opinion pieces begin to pop up to redefine what pedophilia even is

and if this is all being done to protect Israel/Mossad's op, lol, of course it would be

we're going to have to learn 17 more words like "epheberphile" from specific ghouls deflecting

And they’ll tell us it’s just like LGBTQ+, you watch.

Remember, Biden could have released the files but didn't. This is all Washington Kabuki, while those who suffered at the hands of Epstein and his client list are denied any justice.

211 of how many?

It’s 211 too many, but I don’t know the exact number and I’m curious.

It's a shitty SEO article title to get clicks and pageviews.

Nine Republicans abstained from the vote. [...] House Republicans on Tuesday blocked a Democratic attempt to force a vote on releasing the Epstein files, with zero Republicans supporting the measure. The final vote was 211 to 210. One Republican with a spine would have tipped the scale and given the American people greater transparency on the Epstein saga.

Also two Dems did not vote, so both parties could have tipped the scales and chose not to. Also it was attached to a crypto bill.

At this point I'm wondering if they get together to discuss this stuff ahead of time, treat it like a wrestling match for the public or something.

[–] SchillMenaker@hexbear.net 17 points 1 month ago

Nah, all of those other nine were on deck if they were needed.

[–] radio_free_asgarthr@hexbear.net 20 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (2 children)

435 total representatives, so not a majority.

[–] culpritus@hexbear.net 28 points 1 month ago

220 are Republicans currently, so almost all of them voted to protect pedos

[–] TheWolfOfSouthEnd@hexbear.net 16 points 1 month ago

That’s brilliant. Thank you.

You'd think the Qanon freaks would start doing 𝓼𝓲𝓵𝓵𝔂 𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓷𝓰𝓼, but of course they're just paedophiles and general child abusers who think they can cloak their crimes by projecting. Hopefully that's another reason for their families to abandon them.

[–] hellinkilla@hexbear.net 17 points 1 month ago

When you are the most loser ass political party of all time you can afford to table ideas like this one which if successful would be just as bad for you as for your opponent, the second most loser ass party of all time.

It is such an admission of their subservient status. They know they will lose.

[–] purpleworm@hexbear.net 17 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Surely this is political suicide for almost every single one, right?

[–] Damarcusart@hexbear.net 14 points 1 month ago

Whelp, we tried. Nothing we can do now. Guess we'd better just accept that these files will never see the light of day and there's nothing we can do about it because that's just what democracy is honey.

[–] AOCapitulator@hexbear.net 10 points 1 month ago (1 children)

and I assume like 200 dems as well yes?

[–] AOCapitulator@hexbear.net 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I'm actually legitimately shocked

[–] LeninWalksTheEarth@hexbear.net 1 points 1 month ago

yea but how would they vote if they had power and their party's president was on that list? ehhhh Maybe it would get some democrats to vote with the GOP and help this vote pass, maybe it wouldnt.
