I'm a bit biased, but this dog has saved my life countless times. He learned how to detect my seizures, on his own, and I haven't collapsed or injured myself from a seizure since. This is Avalanche. He's by my side 24/7 and since I'm a cosplayer, he is too!

The good ol Quokka
How have I never seen him before? He's too cute!
Because they are super rare and only exist (thanks to humans) on one small island of Perth,West Australia, and a single hidden colony south of Perth.
I keep looking at him can I share him in !aww@lemmy.world
You're too kind for asking.
Of course you can!
Thanks mate!
Capybara.
Yeah. It's a tie between Capybaras and Quokkas for me
Well.....dammit. I came here to say this. Now I feel like I can't say anything because it's all been said before! What can I say that nobody has ever said before???
When you think about it, trumps time spent golfing really helps the common man.
.....huh. I guess that's something nobody has ever said before. I mean, I don't agree with it, but it is something that nobodies ever said before.
There's still leaf sheep and sea bunnies!
Pallas cat
manul
Now that's a beauty
I'm torn on this. Bumblebees are adorable and we'd die without them pollinating things. They sting but almost never.
Sheep are pretty cute and totally harmless. People aren't harmed by a rabid sheep!
Then there's bunnies. Hopping around being adorable and they're harmless animals that you can hug.
It's a tough one!
reads answer
nods
gets confused
Wait.....how is butterfly NOT on LadyButterfly's list???
Oh my God I have betrayed my people 😢
I wouldn't say "totally harmless", don't get me wrong it isn't like I am going to be scared of a sheep in the way I might some kind of large predator but males will charge you and ram the shit out of you and if they have horns that has the potential to be nasty.
We used to have a sheep that loved being stroked and would head butt you in appreciation, the only problem is the more he enjoyed it the more of a run up he got each time, harder and harder. When you are a small kid a sheep ramming the shit out of you literally sends you flying.
But I love the idiots, they are great!
Wow TIL! I never thought a cloud on legs would do that
You clearly haven't seen Black Sheep if you think people aren't harmed by them
Thanks for reminding me about the Violence of the Lambs.
And if you haven't seen it, give Zombeavers a watch.
I want to add the Latin name for the bumblebee genus is Bombus, which in itself is a pretty strong argument.
Cow.
Intelligent, curious and docile.
One time I was watching one of those youtube videos of stupid drivers dash cam compilations. This one driver is driving in the countryside, and flying over these hills at 90mph. He flies over one hill, goes airborn, and crashes into a fence, and then hit a cow.
The cow goes down, and suddenly this OTHER cow comes running around from out of nowhere. I thought it was funny at the time, because the cow had this real aura about him like he was running up like "STEVE!!! STEVE ARE YOU OK???"
I was just imagining that's what the cow was doing, and it was funny to me.
Only for me to tell this same story years later, and get told "Actually, cows are very empathetic, and social creatures. That cow WAS running up to check on his friend. That's what was happening for real."
And I think that's kind of cool. A cow can be your friend.
Yeah. They are ridiculously social creatures and I absolutely saw them mourning a friend.
(But they can be assholes as well. Towards humans, but also between themselves. One of the funniest childhood memories I have is a cow intentionally toppling another cow (T-boned crash basically) and then shitting in its face. Comment of the carer: "yeah, she does that when her peers piss her off. She tried to do that with me as well, but missed and headbutted into a wall. See the missing brick? That was her")
Docile? Have you worked with real cows?
Everything is relative 😆
Cows can absolutely be assholes, even when raised in a species appropriate environment. I saw a cow intentionally ambush someone once. (And no, he definitely didn't mistreat it before)
And they are anything but docile when their calves are around - I literally treated people who nearly died (and know of various cases of people who died) because momma cows found they are a threat.
I know some large animal vets and they are having lots of "almost killed me" stories of cows - and have far more respect towards them compared to horses, bison, etc.
But don't get me wrong: I fucking love them - they are ridiculously nice animals, can be loving and caring, are VER Y social and astonishing creatures. But they are anything but docile.
Possums.
Nothing more wholesome than just existing and letting everyone know how you're feeling
Orangutans
Ook?
