Greta Thunberg logically pointed out everything that is wrong with the world. Pollution, corporate despotism, war…

…and she is somehow one of the most hated people in our time.

Because Chuds own the media and public opinion

Pointing this out to western liberals makes them flip though. They all individually must have come to the same conclusions that the US State Department is pushing through their own research and anyone who questions them must be a young person who hasn't known the "real world" yet.

Chuds in the distinct sense of the word do not own public opinion. Public opinion is usually well to their left and it is part of their constant rhetorical trickery to try to obfuscate this fact. That's part of where "silent majority" comes from: inventing their own popularity.

I get what you're saying (that the public in general is more susceptible to leftist ideas because most people are workers). However by in large in most liberal "democracies" especially in the imperialist nations, conservatives drive the public discourse because they own every single media (even the ones chuds paint as "communist") and the largest social media political commentators.

Chuds and conservatives aren't the same thing. There is a solid argument that most of the population is conservative, but what I was referencing wasn't some general idea that you can reach workers but the observable polling data from bourgeois institutions showing that the public supports many "leftist" policies like M4A.

Huh? People who identify as "conservative" always say the most disgusting fascistic shit ever.

Aside from that, I guess I can agree.

[–] purpleworm@hexbear.net 5 points 1 week ago

Indeed, but there are countless people who are conservative but generally wouldn't identify that way. Those are typically Democrats.

As is tradition

The people with the platforms are not on our side though.

[–] OldSoulHippie@hexbear.net 29 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The platforms themselves don't even allow that kind of discourse

The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department would like to apologize for this post expressing sympathy to Iran.

[–] wetbeardhairs@lemmy.dbzer0.com 20 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The people with platforms are bribed by the platform owners and wealthy GOP to propagandize for the right.

[–] purpleworm@hexbear.net 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The Dems aren't exactly hosting Greta either, aside from when she's part of an international incident.

To be fair, same-picture

[–] FedPosterman5000@hexbear.net 5 points 1 week ago

Oh shit gamers rise up - those years of navigating platformers in the face of the enemy are about to pay off - those with the platforms have never been on our side joker-gaming

To be among the masses and fail to conduct propaganda and agitation or speak at meetings or conduct investigations and inquiries among them, and instead to be indifferent to them and show no concern for their well-being, forgetting that one is a Communist and behaving as if one were an ordinary non-Communist. This is a seventh type [of liberalism].

This goes so hard she's so cool

Fuck yeah. Greta started off as a kid worried about climate change, after meeting like every western world leader, going to UN speeches, being portrayed and groomed by western institutions with the almost explicit goal of making her the 'acceptable' lib face of climate protests. I can't imagine how much material wealth she must've been offered for standing in line and doing what was demanded of her.

Instead, she's actually stuck to her principles - she's calling out every last fucker who maliciously contributes to this, and protesting with actual direct action and so getting arrested. She turned tankie and realised capitalism and imperialism are the major enemies, her time with the soulless ghoulish world leaders radicalised her further, but also gave her the knowledge of the very people who are the problem.

So cool - keep it up Thunberg fidel-salute
