Chicago has some interesting architecture. I highly recommended its architecture boat tour if you ever visit.

Next visit. Ty.

[–] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

That sounds fun. Will definitely need to put that on my list of places to visit.

Ha, yeah... Big boi.

All libraries should have a guardian owl of some sort!

[–] Pnut@lemm.ee 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Good for that owl for continuing its education. It doesn't have a fucking clue how to read but it's trying.

Maybe there's an AI chip embedded.

Fun fact about owls: they appear to be intelligent with their large eyes and calm(ish) demeanour, but the ironic thing is that those eyes are so large that they don’t leave much room in the owl’s skull for their brain - owls are unusually stupid for their size.

Makes sense. Couldn't count higher than 3 before chomping that lollipop.

[–] anon6789@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It's not the size of the brain, it's how you use it! 🤪

Then it’ll be the Covids for me, especially ravens. And pretty much all of the parrots, especially the African Grey.

I love me some corvids. I've built up my relationships with my local clan of Jays from when I was WFH, and we have a bunch of them in the clinic now, along with a crow and a raven.

They're all wonderful, but I'm still biased toward the owls and raptors.

It looks ugly and it's probably gonna fucking fall apart eventually. If it's steel, it looks like it's gonna rust. If it's not, well, it's gonna fall apart. This can't be something that is like a permanent installation. I hope not.

[–] MintyFresh@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

What won't fall apart in the end!? It looks durable enough, and I think it looks neat.

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

I would say they're permanent. There are smaller versions around the roof line.
