Is the new bottle identical to the bottle after the sip was taken? That would mean each copy has less juice than the one before it. So although the total amount of juice increases when a copy is made (at least until the sip is larger than the remaining juice), it would still run out eventually.

[–] CaptainBlagbird@lemmy.world 27 points 3 weeks ago

Good question. The same goes for the label. If I rip it away and burn it before drinking, would I then turn into a bottle that also doesn't have a label, making it even more dangerous to other people.

[–] weird@sub.wetshaving.social 11 points 3 weeks ago

Now these are the real questions

Bottle prime would still have the same amount though, and infinite copies of that (minus 1 drop) could be made of if

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 9 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

You could also refill the first bottle after each clone, then all cloned bottles would be full -2 sips.

But only if you could resist sipping it yourself before refilling.

[–] pruwybn@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 3 weeks ago

Good point, I hadn't thought of that.

[–] pruwybn@discuss.tchncs.de 5 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

It would have less every time someone drinks from it.

[–] tetris11@lemmy.ml 3 points 3 weeks ago

oh... doy. I thought I had this figured out

[–] HowAbt2day 5 points 3 weeks ago

And even faster if you pour it into a glass like a decent human versus drinking straight from the bottle like my mom would say, “a goddam animal like your father”.

[–] spicytuna62@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

Once all of the fuller bottles are depleted, we're gonna see some exponential growth in the bottle population.

[–] Nurse_Robot@lemmy.world 25 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

I know I would become one of those juices

“Here, drink this”

But what does it taste like?

[–] HowAbt2day 18 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

It tastes like the other bottles. They’re identical.

[–] pruwybn@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

But what do the other bottles taste like?

[–] HowAbt2day 3 points 3 weeks ago

The first bottle, IIRC.

[–] gandalf_der_12te@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

the sweetest nectar that you've ever tasted

[–] the_trash_man@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

How is a bottle able to type?

[–] cdf12345@lemm.ee 2 points 3 weeks ago

It’s impossible to ever know

Me trying to socialize in Caves of Qud

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 7 points 3 weeks ago

"My God... The juice is loose!"

[–] nialv7@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

ok but how does this works? if i pour it on the ground and lick it, do i turn into a puddle? or it stops working because technically it's no longer a "bottle of juice"?

[–] kkj@lemmy.dbzer0.com 23 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

It just turns you into the same bottle. The juice is what transforms you; the bottle is just a convenient inbuilt warning.

[–] nialv7@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Makes sense. I feel there should be law mandating the juice be sold in the original bottle so that consumers can be well informed what they are transforming into.

[–] gandalf_der_12te@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 3 weeks ago (3 children)

what if you pour it into the ocean? eventually it will become the drinking water for everyone. what if people turn only a little bit into a bottle because of the small dosis? how do you turn into a bottle just a little bit?

[–] OneWomanCreamTeam@sh.itjust.works 5 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

It says "even a sip", so I suppose it's a question of what is the minimal amount of juice that counts as a sip. If it's diluted enough it might only half transform you into a bottle of juice.

how would that look..?

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 3 points 3 weeks ago

I'm a little bit of a bottle, short and stout,

Here is my handle, here is my AHHHHH OH GOD IT HURTS! KILL ME NOW AND END MY SUFFERING, DEAR MERCIFUL GOD!

[–] kkj@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 3 weeks ago

They'd get a hell of a lot less than a sip. I assume that nothing happens until you have a complete sip, since it seems to be instantaneous (the bottle in the foreground has cartoon "pop" lines).

[–] inconel@lemmy.ca 6 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

Hypothetically asking, can I get one and serve in a glass to someone else?

[–] weird@sub.wetshaving.social 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)
[–] inconel@lemmy.ca 7 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Ok. I'm getting really hypothetical here, but leaving this at party can spread the juice quickly and even wider spread if it gets into water system. Whole life on earth will turn juice soon...

[–] nialv7@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

so like a Cat's Cradle kind of situation? 🤔

[–] FireIced@lemmy.super.ynh.fr 1 points 3 weeks ago

You're a true villain

[–] FauxLiving@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

A wise man say: If we drink the juice, are we not ourselves changed?

[–] the_trash_man@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago

But im so thristy

[–] ILikeBoobies@lemmy.ca 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

When someone takes a sip, does an equal amount of elixir drain from each? Is this a finite resource?

[–] weird@sub.wetshaving.social 7 points 3 weeks ago

No, each bottle is an independent entity

[–] WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago
[–] Master@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

What happens if you pour a bit of 3 different bottles into a cup, mix it up and then drink it. Which bottle do you turn into?

[–] Bamboodpanda@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

This reminds me of the Light Grenade from Mom and Dad Save the World.

[–] match@pawb.social 2 points 3 weeks ago

inanimate_tf

[–] loomy@lemy.lol 1 points 3 weeks ago

but maybe these were all just originally bottles?

[–] Revan343@lemmy.ca 1 points 3 weeks ago

We're doing juice memes now?

I'm off to bed, but I hope somebody makes a 'juice that turns you into beans' meme before morning so I don't have to

[–] VinesNFluff@pawb.social 1 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Better than the _🎵Juice That Makes Your Head Explode🎵 _

Like a human but mangled and compressed into the shape of of a juice bottle.
