Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.

Rules:

-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --

-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --

-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --

-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today/ . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --

-- Mass tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken markov chain bot will result in a comm ban--

-- Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.--

-- Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned. --

-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --

An imperious golden bust of Musk stands nine feet tall outside the town. A plaque on its pedestal reads “ELON AKA Memelord”.

There is an employee-only restaurant called Astropub with a neon red “Occupy Mars” sign behind the bar. One of the main boulevards is called “Memes Street”.

I… have no words

Is the restaurants free or they pay with company credits?

I met a traveller from an antique land, Who said—"An imperious golden bust of some goofy mf, Stands in the desert. . . . "

Lol this reminds me of my teammate that said he wishes our company would have company daycares to take care of his child. Something about being in this innovative office environment around so many smart people would be really enriching for their child's development

I need to ask…what is wrong with a company provided day care? Like an onsite nursery, not children in the office?

[–] GaveUp@hexbear.net 12 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

He meant children in the office lol. And they'd be provided lunch, snacks, and entertainment at the company cafeteria/kitchens/game rooms too

Just begging for his child to be brainwashed by his company

Wow. Thank you. Why would you want an office full of children? I don’t want to be at work anyway….i definitely don’t want to be at work and unable to do anything.

I’m assuming this guy thought his boss liked him?

We once had a discussion about what we'd do if we won a billion dollars and he actually said he'd keep working because he doesn't know what else he'd do

His boss probably did like him because he did an insane amount of work. He once even told me to message him on vacation if I ever needed his help

[–] SouthEndSunset@lemm.ee 7 points 2 months ago

If I won a billion quid, cause I’m British, I’d be out the door so fast….and I like my boss and job.

This is why Unions are so cool. Mine force companies to pay an extra to parents so they can pay for childcare.
