I'm into bird watching, so I'd want to travel to see new ones and what have you.

I would want to craft more.

I would read more.

I would take language lessons

I would work on that book idea

I would take classes on anything that interested me.

I would want to have a small farm, I just think it's neat.

[–] GarboDog@lemm.ee 2 points 2 months ago

Would study and do arts and use our findings and research to help improve the world in some kind of way, even if its a little.

[–] seeigel@feddit.org 2 points 2 months ago

Without joking, most likely I would watch more Lemmy.

[–] dustyData@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Go into teaching. I love to assist others in their learning voyage, I love science, research, classes. However, financial realities mean that I would be starving if I pursued that path. So I find fulfillment in adjacent activities in my current line of work. I would also have an electronics workshop, repairing computers and other electronics for fun.

[–] Rivalarrival@lemmy.today 2 points 2 months ago

Beat on red hot metal with a hammer, and fly hot air balloons.

So all that would change is that my basic needs would actually be met.

I'd throw parties probably, but only if poverty were eliminated for everyone.

[–] die444die@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

I mean I think you can still throw some parties even before then. Just keep it realistic.

[–] slingstone@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Exercise to get healthy and work on my garden, to start. Then I'd handle any necessary projects for my home. Then I'd find causes to support by volunteering.

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Basic needs only? Still work so I can have money to do more than just basic things.

Haha I like to be silly at work sometimes after I’ve already paid the big monthly expenses. I say, “I’m here to do two things help kids and pay bills, and I’m all outta bills.” I would continue to work in my field on a part time basis. Then I would make time for a few doctor appointments and start going to therapy again. I’d walk my dog at different parks more often. Hopefully id make more time with my friends and family assuming they have the same deal. I would want to be more involved with my community too.

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Metal, leather and wood working. Bee keeping and running a little shop

[–] Azal@pawb.social 2 points 2 months ago

I don't think I'd ever leave the makerspace.

[–] Zacryon@feddit.org 2 points 2 months ago

I would become an author and write plenty of fiction, poems, short stories. I might also get into game development. And if time permits, I would even pick up on astronomy.

[–] Broadfern@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Volunteer, hands down. Local community stuff, create something akin to a co-op public broadcasting channel, spend time with my animals, bake and donate goods.

[–] venusaur@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Go around pantsing people all day. Go so hard that it starts to feel like work. Then pants myself and end it all.

[–] MisterNeon@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago (3 children)

A podcast about the pre-columbian Americas which in all honesty would be a Hardcore History knockoff.

I would walk my dog, lift weights, study foreign languages, help my community

[–] countrypunk@slrpnk.net 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

I'd make a lot of paintings, learn how to animate, compose a gigaton of music, make a graphic novel, collect analog synths and various folk instruments, gaze at the stars, go camping a lot, make a garden of native plants, design my house to be optimal and asestically pleasing, read a lot of books, spend time with friends, host a server or two. And travel. Lots of travel but I'd do travel where I stay in one place for months as opposed to multiple in a couple of weeks so that I could really absorb the culture.

[–] ocean@lemmy.selfhostcat.com 1 points 2 months ago

Also my research but with less bs

[–] CompactFlax@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 2 months ago

Build things, well, until I get tired of it. The ADHD is strong and I hate fine finish work.

[–] marx2k@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

I'd dive fully into circuitboard electronics

[–] JayGray91@piefed.social 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Sounds like it would have to be free or low cost hobby. So probably I'd go hiking, and camping while reading books and making coffee with my aeropress

Basically yurucamp. A nice cosy anime. You should watch it

If there's somehow a way in this utopia scenario to also maintain a moped like a Honda supercub or vespa, add that as well as I cruise around between hiking and camp sites

Yes I can do that right now but you know how it is what it is

[–] Matriks404@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

Travel, meet with friends, play video games, watch some movies.

[–] dumblederp@aussie.zone 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Study more JiuJitsu and physiotherapy for poor people.

[–] peregrin5@lemm.ee 1 points 2 months ago

Make my pottery, dive deeper into woodworking, and learn permaculture farming.

I'd design and build useful things

[–] BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

Read a lot of books. Swim. Go for coffee anytime I could with friends. Volunteer. Sit and stare out the window at the rain. Foster parenting.

[–] meep_launcher@lemm.ee 1 points 2 months ago

A) mental health would absolutely improve so I'd have more energy for

B) producing more shows and putting on more events. Personally I don't want to retire because I want to create a career where if I did retire I'd just do what I was doing anyway. I'm kinda doing that now but I have more BS and stress to deal with.

play more games learn to draw maybe pick up a new language.

[–] LordCrom@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

Kung fu, charitable volunteering, and any intellectual challenge I could take on.
