Whether it's a project you're working on, plans you have this weekend, an event you're going to, etc. What's something that's got you excited?

  • Reading. Like I do with online content, I select very strictly the books I read, doing my best to keep hate/anger (as well as proud idiocy) at bay.
  • Writing (& journaling)
  • Long walks (edit: nicer weather makes it even more tempting ;)
  • Quality time with my spouse
  • A little music too.

Nothing fancy, but very efficient as far as I'm concerned.

What's been one of your favorite books so far this year?

My best friend's getting married next month, and I'm the minister.

That's honestly really awesome. It's such an awesome thing to be able to do for a friend! Congratulations!

I'm taking three days of annual leave between Easter and ANZAC day next month. I'll be out of the office eleven days straight. Time to properly unwind.

More sunlight as summer approaches, and enough heat that I can be outside without freezing to death. Can't wait until I can get the back patio set up, and see hummingbirds coming by again. Plus it'll be kayaking season, just in time for my sprained wrist to have hopefully healed.

I can't wait to be able to garden again in a few weeks.

I'm so excited I wet my plants!

There's a conference in Albuquerque next week. Never been that far West before, and it beats going to work!

I'm going on vacation *next Tuesday! We're driving south until it's aggressively springtime, and then we'll see what's next. Probably hiking, sleeping late, and waffle house. I'm a simple sort.

Edit- I have no concept of time. Boo.

Sometimes simple pleasures are the best and just what we need.

I'm excited that my company could break 2 million in revenue this year. 1.7 at the least.

Nice! You planning to celebrate?

It's looking like it's going to be a good year for gaming.

Games I'm looking forward to:

Subnautica 2 The Outer Worlds 2 Death Stranding 2 (possibly. I'll wait for reviews) GTA 6 (Assuming there is an offline, kernal DRM free mode) Solarpunk Paralives

Timberborn’s experimental branch adds some cool shit and the mods are patching for compatibility. New gaming addiction.

[–] MajorHavoc@programming.dev 2 points 1 week ago

If Subnautica 2 delivers on the multi player co-op, I could see it joining my primary LAN party rotation. Exciting stuff.

Small shout-out to

I finally got a new dishwasher to replace the one that was spewing water, and my husband promised he'd tackle getting the laundry washing machine replaced with one that works soon. I'm very excited for when i get to stop going to the laundromat!

Just learned from my neighbor that the back door of the house I just bought floods during summer monsoons, so I'm going to spend the next few weekends digging a trench out to the street to give any future downpours a path away from my back door.

Our country is trialling the UTI vaccine. Think of other advancement we made since COVID.

[–] RebekahWSD@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Looking forward to Blue Prince releasing. Looking forward to....something happening with Heaven's Vault. I'm hoping a new game and not just more books?? Hoping my dental abscess and enlarged spleen is nothing.

I appreciate the effort but I have to wonder if folks hanging inside Auschwitz had conversations like this.

[–] ReiRose@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Absolutely. Pandoras box released the moth for a reason, we can't all just 100% suffer
