Trump launches an invasion of Greenland but the planes all fall apart mid-flight and the troops end up as popsicles in the North Atlantic Ocean.

The aircraft fail during invasion because a critical component was not designed to handle just how cold the weather is in that region

Skimping on hardened devices capable of handling said weather saved Lockheed Martin 10 dollars per plane

The 'fix' costs 50 million dollars and all F 35s grounded for months

The next time this pilot crashes an F-35 we will cheer their safe ejection.

[–] Sulvor@hexbear.net 13 points 2 days ago

Whoops guys I crashed another one

anakin-padme-1 "We developed a system for the F-35 to perform vertical landings"

anakin-padme-2 "For the F-35 to perform vertical landings safely, right?"

Anakin is not supposed to be based in this meme format

The pilot appears to have safely ejected

Boooooo

[–] Weedian@hexbear.net 10 points 2 days ago

He's safe but a couple inches shorter. If he does it again he will never fly again

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 16 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Remember when the ejection system used to decapitate the pilot on use?

Good times

[–] Weedian@hexbear.net 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

remember when the oxygen generator didnt work and the pilots would struggle to keep from passing out?

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 8 points 2 days ago

And when they couldn't fly in the rain because it would short out the electrical systems?

The best quality video I've seen so far. I'm so curious about the cause. A flat spin from that altitude with landing gear down is a really strange way to see one crash.

It really looks like it was running on cartoon physics and ran out of fuel mid-air lmao

Ah jeez, my bad guys.

I can imagine fucking up this bad at work and having to just stand there sheepishly at someone chews you out

[–] Weedian@hexbear.net 9 points 2 days ago

Lol I saw this video. The plane was just in a flat freefall and it wasn't even the vertical takeoff/landing version!

[–] Alaskaball@hexbear.net 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Oh that's what the boom was

[–] TheRealChrisR@hexbear.net 1 points 2 days ago

We bring the BOOM

[–] Zuzak@hexbear.net 7 points 2 days ago

Is this praxis? is-this

[–] a_party_german@hexbear.net 6 points 2 days ago

Is there still this rule of thumb that an active ejection makes you like a half inch shorter?

Or maybe the new ejections seats are better. They have to be, look how many crashes there are!
