inb4 at least one of the two attacks recently was encouraged by some alphabet soup agency so the usual libs can tie Luigi to a "wave of lone wolf terrorism" to deflect from the shoddy case the feds have on him at the moment.

Remember folks, if you're a juror in a trial and the judge gives you instructions that limits what you can choose for the defendent, you don't have to follow those instructions.

randomly attack revelers

detonate car bomb for the most confusing reasons in history

plan and execute highly specific assassination of rich person directly responsible for your and millions of others' problems

these three are not the same (assuming Luigi did it which I DO NOT BELIEVE. he's a patsy any jury with a brain should see that and vote NOT GUILTY due to reasonable doubt)

[–] merthyr1831@lemmy.ml 7 points 1 day ago

what's the odds that these Fort Bragg school of lone wolf terrorism graduates are more than coincidentally timed to deflect from the effects of the CEO killing and how bad the case against Luigi is going. Maybe a bit of GWOT screeching will get Americans to toe the line in the courtroom

[–] sharkfucker420@lemmy.ml 78 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Its a fucking insult to put luigi on the same screen as those fucks

[–] stigsbandit34z@hexbear.net 52 points 1 day ago (1 children)

He's seen everything get worse over the decades he has been covering this shit. The only thing that hasn't gotten worse is his net worth.

I wonder if this fact alone informs his acceptance of the status quo. curious-marx

The man's wealth has come from criticising the ruling class yet proffering no solution to it other than vote for the ruling class. Hmmmmm indeed

And yes, I AM replying to myself. downbear

[–] Assian_Candor@hexbear.net 42 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Get a podcast. And make that podcast trueanon. And then name them in your manifesto, and do it

[–] MF_COOM@hexbear.net 37 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Don't do it though.

But if you do...

[–] Mindfury@hexbear.net 30 points 1 day ago
[–] Diva@lemmy.ml 20 points 1 day ago

Manifesto is just the 1320 rant, censoring the 'removed-beaters' line for being problematic

[–] GrouchyGrouse@hexbear.net 26 points 1 day ago

When we point out that both political sides are the same the liberals screech and howl.

Yeah, we're being hyperbolic, they aren't technically the same, but they do align on a lot of issues and contribute to the same problems in their own distinct ways. Our bad. Oops.

Then the libs do shit like this.

[–] Guamer@hexbear.net 39 points 1 day ago

1 of these things is not like the others

[–] Rom@hexbear.net 25 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

[–] regul@hexbear.net 23 points 1 day ago

new orleans guy on the left, vegas truck in the middle

[–] Ram_The_Manparts@hexbear.net 23 points 1 day ago
[–] take_five_seconds@hexbear.net 13 points 1 day ago

[–] batsforpeace@hexbear.net 13 points 1 day ago

he practicing to inevitably take over from Bill Maher

[–] GrosMichel@hexbear.net 19 points 1 day ago

Honestly. Maybe he's onto something. Maybe one of our beloved dirtbag left podcasts (except YKS) could do something cool for once.

Jon Stewart the guy who has spent his entire life passionately defending the democratic process is…… defending the democratic process. The outrage. Do I agree with his take all the time, no. 95% of his material is much needed discussions and I applaud his stalwart efforts. He fights for the people his way, to me he is a bright spot in an otherwise self serving pool off muck.

[–] ShimmeringKoi@hexbear.net 44 points 1 day ago

Where is the democracy in this "democratic process", and why does it involve me paying five billion dollars a month to the landlord until I die without healthcare?

[–] john_brown@hexbear.net 47 points 1 day ago

I'm honestly so thankful for his rally to restore sanity, it really did work liberalism

[–] CloutAtlas@hexbear.net 28 points 1 day ago

He's still self serving. He's the liberal that liberals accuse childish communists of being. You know, "complains about status quo but offers no realistic solution".

He offers no realistic solution. You can't vote your way out of your American healthcare system when both parties are against it. You can write to your representative but they don't give a shit unless your specific representative is like Bernie Sanders or something.

He's not fighting for anyone except maybe those firefighters. He's selling you opium so you can feel better about the shitty situation you're in, so you can hope for a better future, yet it will never come because the American system cannot be saved. It's like telling a terminal patient that they're going to get better soon, I promise. It's cruel.

[–] corgiwithalaptop@hexbear.net 45 points 1 day ago

Perhaps the democratic process should be fixed tho

[–] Comrade_Mushroom@hexbear.net 43 points 1 day ago

I do believe his heart is in the right place but his libitude is a colossal hindrance. And ultimately, that's what made him an integral part of my growth into a communist, before I was able to learn about it for myself and neoliberalism is all anyone was willing/allowed to present to me; because I think you can only withstand seeing the same ineffectual "Fuck these guys ruining everything and murdering people but we're not really gonna do anything about them" take so many times before you start to think... if the stakes are this high, maybe there's some better way to get good things to happen?

[–] BurgerPunk@hexbear.net 36 points 1 day ago

Stewart sucks

[–] comrade_pibb@hexbear.net 18 points 1 day ago

democratically process my shit and hair
