"alt-right women are upset that alt-right men are treating them terribly

some prominent alt-right women are calling for more equality and acceptance within the movement"

🤔

JFC...

"Why are you acting like the lying liberals say you act!? I don't believe you act the way you really do because they say you do! Stop being you, you're making the liberals look correct!"

[–] MagicShel@lemmy.zip 25 points 2 weeks ago

Darn alt-right feminists!

They know that, according to GOP’s leadership, they’re not even supposed to hold office? They’re supposed to be in the kitchen making sandwiches. Also popping out babies.

And they wonder why?

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 30 points 2 weeks ago

"But I'm one of the good ones. They clearly don't mean me."

The incoming health secretary says it's fine.

[–] Zachariah@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I mean, it’s convenient. Someone’s gotta keep an eye on the bun in the oven while delivering the bun in the oven.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Damn, now I'm oddly hungry to eat a baby.

[–] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 2 weeks ago

You gotta wait the full 9 months, else it's a crime.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

And you wonder why I won’t eat at their house?

They don’t believe in soap either.

[–] adarza@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 weeks ago

the kitchen or the baby sandwiches?

44% of women aged 18-44 and 48% of women over 45 voted for a rapist to lead them. (AP Data) Like what do these voters and female Republican politicians expect at this point? DE&I is "woke" according to them, but did they also know that listening to women is "woke" to Republicans too?

[–] nimble@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 2 weeks ago

If you sort the data by "women by race" you get a better picture. 53% of white women voted for trump, which made up for the only 10% of black women who voted for him, and 39% of latina women.

Not that it takes away from what you're saying, i just think white women in particular really screwed themselves over here

[–] whostosay@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

There's a typo at the beginning of this, or I can't read

[–] Rentlar@lemmy.ca 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Sorry, will fix:

44% of women ~~voted~~ aged 18-44 and 48% of women over 45[,] voted for a rapist to lead them.

[–] whostosay@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago

That's what I had thought, but I just thought it could help some people's, thanks!

"I don’t know why there wasn’t one who was able to become a chairperson of a committee..."

Because if the Republicans have their way, womens roles will be "Tradwife" and nothing else.

[–] Zachariah@lemmy.world 17 points 2 weeks ago

They could also be property to be bought, sold, and traded.

[–] Moobythegoldensock@lemm.ee 20 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

“We’ve never been the party that was about checking boxes or identity politics, but the difference is we have women that are qualified to be chairs, and I don’t know why there wasn’t one who was able to become a chairperson of a committee," she added.

Translation: “I never cared that my party discriminated against other people, but now they’re doing it to meeeeee!

[–] samus12345@lemm.ee 11 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I know that hypocrisy is their whole thing, but it's still hard to wrap my mind around a Republican genuinely believing that they're not about identity politics, as if that isn't what their entire platform is based on.

[–] Moobythegoldensock@lemm.ee 4 points 2 weeks ago

Republicans have always been fans of turning real things into incorrectly used buzz words. “Identity politics” means “changing the status quo to include others,” and so only applies to Democrats. “Catering exclusively to bigoted white Christian nationalists who openly want to establish a theocracy” doesn’t count by that metric.

[–] HubertManne@moist.catsweat.com 18 points 2 weeks ago

now. now. elections over and everyone has their place. someones got to feed the men while they lead.

[–] gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 17 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I’m frankly surprised that they’re surprised

[–] ubergeek@lemmy.today 10 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I'm not.

They thought they were one of the good ones, in the minority group.

Same thing with the log cabin Republicans doing the surprised_pikachu.jpg when the GOP passed them over for everything.

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

Something about that parable where the trees vote for the axe because the handle is made of wood. Guess the modern version is /leopardsatemyface.

Jews for Nazism annoyed they aren't welcomed into the 3rd Reich as "the good ones."

On the other hand it looks like AOC will be minority chair in Ways and Means.
