Reminder: Biden was an OG neoliberal that helped Republicans convert their former opposition party into the modern hail corporate Democrats, and was a prominent figure in the legislation for waging our draconian and ineffective war on drugs.

Joe Biden was never your friend, he was complicit in changing our national politics to

Capitalist exploitation + rainbow ribbons(D)

Or

Capitalist exploitation + scapegoating(R)

I held my nose and voted for him in 2020, but that's just harm reduction. I'll take a serial killer over a cannibal serial killer that eats your fingers and toes before they kill you type thing.

Remember when people got mad at you for calling him Genocide Joe?

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 3 points 10 minutes ago

They still do. They're just even less justified than they used to be.

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 21 points 2 hours ago (2 children)

Could be using his last days on something constructive, or to earn lower and midde class trust back. Instread why not one last war crime for the road.

[–] eugenevdebs@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 1 hour ago

He could be using his king powers granted by the SCOTUS to give minimum wage, the funds he promised, fully cancel student debt, keep queer protections, make abortion legal, or any of the things he said he would do but somehow was always stopped.

But he just keeps giving aid to "Literally Genocide LLC" because who cares, he'll take that AIPAC money and run before the Trump fans start going after him.

[–] Kbobabob@lemmy.world -5 points 1 hour ago (2 children)

Which war crime are you referencing the Biden is committing?

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 2 points 11 minutes ago

Aiding and abetting crimes against humanity by supplying weapons and funds while knowing EXACTLY what they're being used for.

[–] leftytighty@slrpnk.net 3 points 33 minutes ago

have you lost count

[–] MataVatnik@lemmy.world 20 points 4 hours ago (2 children)

Democrats are not a real party, it's just controlled opposition at this point.

[–] NoLifeGaming@lemmy.world 5 points 56 minutes ago

Pretty much. Most candidates from both parties are bought by AIPAC as well as other lobbies. We have an oligarchy.

[–] Kbobabob@lemmy.world -5 points 1 hour ago

Funny. That's what I hear republicans called

[–] nondescripthandle@lemmy.dbzer0.com 61 points 7 hours ago (2 children)

He earned the Genocide Joe tag at this point. Hes got nothing to lose but still insists the genocide continues without the least bit of resistance.

[–] eugenevdebs@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 hour ago

"You can push Biden to the left once we win!"

"Murder is bad? Defend Ukraine, not Israel?"

"WHY DO YOU HATE AMERICA?!"

[–] leftytighty@slrpnk.net 17 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

but after the election the Democrats are going to be anti genocide. They can't be progressive until after the election because of AIPAC. once the election is over, they're going to do a complete 180 mark my words

Even after Israel treated Biden like shit for four years in response to unquestionable support...

Israel backed trump instead and Biden still is fighting his own party on this instead of spending his last few weeks with any power trying to mitigate Trump's incoming damage.

At this point I honestly don't understand how anyone can claim Biden was anything but a waste of four years that was so unproductive it let trump back into the White House.

I don't give two shits if these ultra conservative Dems are slightly better than a republican. I know I can hold my nose, been doing it for a long time.

But not enough other people will.

And yelling at them isn't effective.

So why don't we stop trying to shove neoliberalism down Dem voters throats, and just run a candidate Dem voters already want to vote for over trump without needing a billion dollar campaign funded by everyone causing problems for the American people

[–] UsernameHere@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago (2 children)

Iran, Russia, China and North Korea have formed an alliance. The US supports Israel as a means to an end: preventing Iran from growing in power in that region.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 2 points 27 minutes ago

Russia also supports the fascist apartheid regime and, if anything, the genocide emboldens everyone who's already opposed to zionist colonialism.

There's no upside to the people of the US or the rest of the west, only the politicians being bribed and blackmailed by AIPAC and similar de facto foreign government agencies.

TONS of downside, though, not least of which that what they're doing is more morally repulsive and indefensible than even the atrocities that we rightfully despise the Putin regime for doing.

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 5 points 2 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago) (1 children)

well if thats true, we've alienated our allies in that region so that plan was remarkably stupid. Or, it could just be that our representitives have been bribed and Israel doesnt care what US support for mass murder costs the US long term.

[–] UsernameHere@lemmy.world -1 points 1 hour ago

Or that the problem is Netanyahu and there is no easy way to end his genocide without letting Iran and thus Russia, China and North Korea get stronger.

[–] fluxion@lemmy.world 22 points 8 hours ago

Pure idiocy at this point.

[–] Rapidcreek@lemmy.world 14 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

It failed on the floor, but got an impressive 18 votes, I think. Done.

All Republicans voted against it.

[–] Zorsith@lemmy.blahaj.zone 15 points 6 hours ago (17 children)

That was guaranteed, the Democrats that voted against it is the important part; these are the people to campaign against and vote out.

[–] treefrog@lemm.ee 12 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

https://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_votes/vote1182/vote_118_2_00292.htm

But I'd suggest supporting the yay votes, rather than punishing the nays. Those progressive seats are the ones the DNC will try to primary, and they'll need campaign donation help next cycle.

[–] macaro@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 5 hours ago

Still gonna email my displeasure to my senators.

Clearly at least some of the Democrats are a Nazi as the Republicans.
