We need these car companies to actually compete and bring small cars to the world.

Most people use a car for commute to and from work. 1 person in a car with 4 empty seats. It's such a waste of space and money. I'd like a small city car and then something a bit bigger for longer trips or then you need space. Shame modular never took off.

I need an original mini with 200km range yesterday

The waste involved in low-occupancy private cars is best addressed with a combination of transit, improved zoning and cycling infrastructure.

But yeah, the cars that should exist beyond that should not be the humongous atrocities roaming the streets these days.

Unfortunately that has no baring on rural. There's no way I'm cycling to work. There's no transportation and likely never will be. It is far easier for those in urban areas and cities. Unfortunately rural get the shitty deal. But we get benefit of not dealing with cities issues. Privacy. Concrete jungle.

I don't mind being higher. Can accomplish that without a giant tank
