6. All posts must be news articles.


No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials or celebrity gossip is allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis.


7. No duplicate posts.


If a source you used was already posted by someone else, the autoMod will leave a message. Please remove your post if the autoMod is correct. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.


8. Misinformation is prohibited.


Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.


9. No link shorteners.


The auto mod will contact you if a link shortener is detected, please delete your post if they are right.


10. Don't copy entire article in your post body


For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

The mob marched Chinese residents to a railroad station and forced them to board a train to Portland.[2] In the following days, the structures that remained in the Chinese community were razed.[3] The event was the result of growing anti-Chinese sentiment and violence throughout the American West.

This organized action became known as the "Tacoma method", and despite national and international outcry, it was used as an example of how to forcibly remove Chinese residents from cities and towns throughout the American West.

Amidst the vast and brutal history of racism and genocide in the US, it's easy to forget that the only people to have been banned from the country by law were the Chinese.

vaguely heard about it, japanese people suffered a similar situation, but they fared much better, although many loss thier homes or business, i heard some good people kept thier farms alive until they returned.

I live in the PNW and had never heard of this event. About 20yrs ago I was considering buying an old house in Old Town and now it looks like that might have involved buying land stolen from Chinese residents after having been stolen from Native residents after ... Thanks for the link.
