Surely if anything it's cynical rather than naive.

The most powerful in every society are the ones with the most resources and they've always been the ones with the free time to operate a government, which they use to pursue and secure their interests.

As far back as we have written and archaeological evidence of heirarchical institutions existing, they have been controlled by and on behalf of the rich and powerful.

I've got bad news for you, our government is already owned by the rich. Every government is. That's the whole point of having a government, it's how the rich control others.

Disposable heroes of hiphoprisy have a great version about Pete Wilson.

Personally, I blame the murderous fascists.

If we were a democracy then maybe it would make sense to blame the public. But our elections are a cesspit of corruption, vote buying, gerrymandering and rampant open illegality.

The public have had little to no relevant say in who forms a government for a few decades at least, probably since the 70s. It makes no sense to blame the public.

That's more deaths than the Holocaust at a much early stage of fascism too. Of course that doesn't account for inflation - 6m dead is closer to 20m with today's total population.

But have no fear, this republican regime will do everything in their power to surpass their idols.

This regime is nothing but human trafficking tsars.

she was taken to the border at San Ysidro, where she was presented with self-deportation paperwork.

"But when Juli refused to sign the paperwork, when Juli demanded to see a judge, when Juli demanded to speak to an attorney, she was punished," the attorney said. "She was taken back to an unmarked van along with other travelers who were also insisting on their rights, and taken to a warehouse where she was only given water. A warehouse where she was not given food. A warehouse, where men and women were held together. A warehouse without any law enforcement employee, without any official there present," he added.

We're paying for this ethnic cleansing campaign. Tax dollars are going to abducting brown folks at gunpoint.

led crowds in chants of “free, free Palestine” and “death, death to the IDF” [The BBC said:] “The antisemitic sentiments expressed by Bob Vylan were utterly unacceptable ... " [Starmer said:] “appalling hate speech.”

"Free Palestine" is not antisemitic. Criticism of a nation state's armed forces is not antisemitic. Especially when those armed forces are objectively committing genocide.
