In this particular context, if we assume that the only viable choices are the two faces of your uniparty, then the least shitty option is the most senile, least competent one.
Then you have no ground to demand that the rest of the world waits for you to do anything and not fight your empire in the meantime. In particular, this applies to complaints about Hamas, but also to other parts of the world that are fighting you.
You are extremely naive if you actually think that it's AIPAC that controls your state, and not vice versa.
