Disagree. It is textbook comedy/tragedy.
The victim has been disproportionately inconvenienced to GREAT irritation. The plate can be replaced quickly and at very little cost. The microwave is in no way damaged permanently, and indeed will still work without the plate.
Yet therein lies the absurdity. Someone went out of their way to steal your turntable. It has zero value to them. They cannot resell it or use it themselves, as all microwaves come with one.
Gotta take tv remotes, they are generally really expensive to replace with the new smart tvs, and the victim will assume that they or someone in the household has lost it. Theres also this https://youtu.be/wu-7soEIHgY

Just to prove that this kind of senseless protest (like stealing a microwave dish or remote batteries) is infact comedy. I Have seen the bit you are referencing tho. I cannot remember the comedian for the life of me. I want to say dane cook but i havent watched him in YEARS and i cant find it.
