It's funny because this is a conspiracy theory that both liberals and MAGA absolutely believe in despite the total lack of any evidence (besides, "you know" or "c'mon, of course there is").

According to a ruling by US District Judge Kenneth Marra in February 2019, “from between about 1999 and 2007, Jeffrey Epstein sexually abused more than 30 minor girls…at his mansion in Palm Beach, Florida, and elsewhere in the United States and overseas.” The ruling goes on to describe a child sex ring: “In addition to his own sexual abuse of the victims, Epstein directed other persons to abuse the girls sexually. Epstein used paid employees to find and bring minor girls to him. Epstein worked in concert with others to obtain minors not only for his own sexual gratification, but also for the sexual gratification of others.”

His sex trafficking is not the conspiracy. The conspiracy is that there has been a massive cover-up.

From the same article:

The United States also agrees that it will not institute any criminal charges against any potential co-conspirators of Epstein, including but not limited to Sarah Kellen, Adriana Ross, Lesley Groff, or Nadia Marcinkova.

If it's just a conspiracy, them why is Ghislaine Maxwell in prison?

So, what happened to "total lack of any evidence?"

Who was she trafficking for?

[–] CmdrShepard49@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 week ago

For Epstein of course. They're trying to claim the buck stops there while the dude had a private island and jet that he used to bring friends and clients to (like his "best friend" Donald Trump)

[–] atzanteol@sh.itjust.works -4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That's not the conspiracy. The conspiracy is the belief in a massive cover up.

[–] jacksilver@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

I mean, it seems likely something is being covered up. In court it was alluded to that Maxwell wasn't just trafficking for Epstein. If that's the case, there were other clients and that info hasn't been released.

So there was definitely sex trafficking of minors. There were definitely many people involved other than Epstein and Maxwell. There was more than enough evidence to convict both of them, but the DOJ declined to pursue any charges against any of those other many people. Epstein died in prison with extremely questionable circumstances. Pam Bondi said on TV she had the list on her desk, but now they are saying a list doesn't exist. There are thousands of photos and videos in evidence, but the DOJ will not release that evidence to any other prosecutors.

There is a lack of evidence of a cover-up because all of the evidence has been covered up.

Pam Bondi said the list was on her desk to review. Then suddenly there was never a list. I wouldn't call that a "total lack of evidence".

I'm leaning toward believing it since we know Trump is a convicted felon and adjudicated rapist.

Benefit of the doubt is important. It's best not to lose it.
