I normally use usenet, but I use torrent as backup. I heard of https://ext.to/, what are other that are good?

If you download games and executable files, you're an idiot, but it's been like this for more than 20 years.

I wouldn't say downloading games is Inherently unsafe you just need to be careful and download from reputable groups. It is also possible especially craft in movie files such as .mkv to be malicious, also don't forget that the ads in some torrent sites are malicious.
