I remember Google+ in the past, it was a great source of information, now my source of information became reddit. Like /r/stocks, /r/anime_titties, /r/programming, or even niche like nier automata fan subreddit. I wish we have other sources, I miss when internet forums were everywhere and you could find forum for every topic.

I have a separate account just for reading with api for sync, I sometimes want to post though, but they Keep banning the accounts.

It doesn't stop you from posting only, I created an account and tried to post a comment. At first the comment got posted, then it got removed and I got a server error. I checked and it seems the account was banned.

As soon as I make an account and try to post a comment or something. I get "server error" which is basically a ban.

I wish we had communities like /r/manga, /r/wallstreetbets, /r/anime_titties. Unfortunately lemmy is pretty empty compared to reddit.

I got banned because of suspicion activity and this is an old account that I had for years. I think it is because I use VPN a lot, but that is still a stupid reason to ban someone.

Pretty sure it is because I used VPN or because I mentioned trump in a comment, it was a very neutral comment. This is a very old account with over 1000 karma. It is like they don't want users, they keep banning accounts.

The problem is that politicians don't understand cyber security, whta their asking is basically the equivalent of closing the front door of a house and leaving the backdoor open. It was already proven to be a bad idea, eternalblue is a good example.

But you use the same column correct? and the data that is messed up is the same type? Unless the data that is messed up is very hard to detect using a script, it should be possible.

I suggest making a script to fix it, rather than fix it manually. It is very easy to use, so basically program then export to excel then run officescript. Also don't tell anyone you made a script, tell them you are doing it manually.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/office/dev/scripts/overview/excel

There is many formats that excel uses, the issue is probably with XLSX format, my guess the problem will be solved by either using a different software or changing the format to csv. If Microsoft doesn't want to bother solving the problem. It is very hard to pinpoint the exact problem without seeing the program, but I will never do something like this manually, I will probably make a script to fix it.

I think you mean export to xls, also each program will have a different way for exporting. It might be that the way excel does it breaks it.

He can also use an alternative to excel like OpenOffice or libreoffice, I don't know why would they would use excel when it causes issues.
