nah, this was a moment in time where the monoculture had fractured but still existed. You couldn't go anywhere in public without hearing this shit, it is seared into our brains in a way no one born after smart phones could even begin to comprehend.
I was just too busy working too many hours a week 17 years ago. I remember seeing it go by but I was building flash banners and facebook graph pages for advertising agencies back then.
I was in the sweet spot of oh that’s funny, but then didn’t bother sharing shit, because after work I didn’t want to see a screen.
