I confirm that on a MINI Cooper the controls are also this way and the same as infuriating.

I was trying to put air in my tires in the freezing cold and this guy pulls up next to me and just starts honking. in c/mildlyinfuriating@lemmy.world

Maybe he just was honking to alert you of his presence to avoid an accident?
