really it only makes sense.

the obvious glaring problem with all of these people who say they support the plight of the gazan people was that if they actually cared for and listened to what the gazan people were telling anyone who would actually listen to them, when it came to who the next american president should be they overwhelmingly said kamala harris.

these online activists were in effect doing the exact same thing that trump was doing with the border. they didn't care or cared very little about gazans other than using them as a tool to try to affect the kind of political revolution they jerk off to every night destroying the "corrupt duopoly" as their only real political goal.

it's good that a leading muslim organization a) listened to what gazans were saying b) considered all consequences of electing either candidate, not just the consequences regarfing gaza and c) knows that there is no such thing as a perfect political party or candidate and that demanding purity on an issue important to them is much likely to get them less influence.

hopefully this news shuts these people up for the next few weeks.

turns out that he felt shitty not because of the food but because he was alcohol detoxing at the same time of his mcd experiment.

I will agree fast food isn't good for you, but at the same time it's also not going to do what spurlock portrayed. just take a look at the workers who have been at a place for more than a few years.

you're going to get that when

a) western media and journalists are deathly afraid of being labeled antisemites for reporting on what the secular government of israel is doing and

b) cable news viewers skew overwhelmingly republican and conservative who are already antimuslim and pro israel to begin with.

these are the people who are keeping the current administration from telling it like it really is. because I honestly don't believe that bibi would be as empowered to do what he's been doing in gaza if the us government isn't actively publicly condemning in plain language what has happened already.

akshually...

scuttlebutt has been that the second the vote to vacate is triggered, 4 house republicans would immediately resign, putting democrats in the majority. there would be no more republicans in charge and we get a functional house with speaker hakeem jeffries for the next 8 months at least.

instead of threatening just do it already.

this is the problem with this republican party. they say they will do a whole bunch of shit and don't do any of it.

there's so much different I'd almost consider them related and not an adaptation.

if he actually is innocent, the absolutely best thing for him to do is to get them over with, then when he is acquited he can use his witch hunt and fake news talking points and gain votes.

pushing all of these trials and trying to bank on winning an election to get out of the majority of these charges (he can't get around georgia that easily) is a 1% strategy in my opinion. that's how I know he's guilty. his entire post indictment behavior is one of a guilty party. I don't really need to follow each case that closely to come to that conclusion. trump has telegraphed that he's guilty.

I'm just worried that someone in his cult might end up on one of the juries.

this is a public political iq test.

we put into office a guy who held no elected office of any kind and look how that worked out. are you going to do that again and expect a better result?

[–] ctkatz@lemmy.ml 5 points 6 months ago

a vote for west is a vote for trump.

these 3rd party runners have no realistic chance of winning the presidency and have a very real chance of sucking votes away from the only viable person who can beat trump.

serious question: how exactly does this work?

[–] ctkatz@lemmy.ml 51 points 6 months ago (6 children)

who else but a genius would buy a social media company, remove the things that made it functional and useful, reintegrate and allow to overpopulate elements that made it worse, and destroy a multi-billion dollar icon and name render useless a word that the thing you bought created and is universally understood because he thinks calling stuff X is cool?

not only a genius but ta soooper genius.
