Would love an Anti-Gamer-Aktion community, but it would just end up being SRS 2.

It's pretty much a given that a plurality, if not majority, of videogame fans, especially online, are immensely obsessive and defensive of their treats, while also being massive chuddy manchildren that seem the most susceptible to culture war freak outs.

More likely that cheating in this context would be finding out that the robots are secretly being controlled remotely by humans behind the scenes, battle bots style.

I will say I have never played one through to the end, and my experience comes just from friends who've had them when I was young. But man they are way too "Japanese" for me. I know it's in the name, but anything to do with Anime just rubs me the wrong way.

There is a fan community that's currently close to releasing a ground up remake of Oblivion as a free mod for Skyrim this year, so at that point, why bother.

Microsoft, Boycott, moving on.

Huh, so they didn't abandon the project, good to see.

Shame, I've owned Xiaomis myself, but now that they've joined the dark side, I'll have to move over to the superior brand.

Yeah, I've been wondering this as well. It makes so little sense but I'm guessing it just makes for shiny propaganda. I was never convinced by the argument that "Humanoid robots are better suited to working in environments that were built for humans", like, WE are the ones who make these environments, wouldn't it just make more sense to rebuild the facility to be more efficient for cheaper and more sensible machinery, rather than invest exponentially more to replace all the humans with robots?

It's like saying "Cars were designed with humans in mind, so if we want self driving cars we need to put a humanoid robot driver in the drivers seat".

The studio was made to work on several projects at once under the new publisher, including outer worlds, Avowed, pentiment etc, all simultaneously, which is why Josh Sawyer, who is probably the best designer/writer they have at the company, didn't work on Avowed, and instead chose to work on Pentiment. Microsoft turning them into a content mill for their shitty consoles and gamepass is part of the problem.

It's a real time strategy series, nothing at all like the open world action RPG thing that Obsidian's other games are like. Its up to taste if you prefer more narrative stuff and (lots of) reading.

Only thing I really hate about Avowed is that we got this instead of Pillars 3...

Their best writers have had little to nothing to do with the studio for the better part of a decade, that's all. Also getting bought out by Microsoft in the middle of their development cycle probably affected them quite poorly.
