When asked about the tariff war between Canada and the United States after the prime minister of Canada said he would consider cutting off electricity to America if Donald Trump continues to impose tariffs, she referenced Jesus Christ.

"They want you to panic, but President Trump wants you to remember Jesus didn’t have electricity either and he did just fine," Leavitt said.

If you think the quality of life in the US has been bad up to this point, just wait until Trump's through with us.

Everybody knew the suit would get dropped after the election because they were reporting the truth. I'm just surprised it took this long.

Yep, if Silicon Valley can't compete, they'll simply rig the game.

I really wish we could disable PMs from anyone but admins or mods of comms we subscribe to, like you can on reddit. There will never be a day when I want to receive a PM from anyone on Lemmy. It's nothing personal, there's lots of cool people here, but I'm not interested in being pen pals. I'm just here for the public forum.

Ah right. Sorry I misread your comment. It’s getting pretty late over here.

The GOP supermajority in the General Assembly this week gave swift passage to the immigration enforcement law despite warnings from staff attorneys that the bill is "constitutionally suspect" in its unprecedented effort to curtail elected officials' voting decisions.

The constitution? Are we still pretending that old thing matters anymore? lol good joke.

Which is amusing because The New York Times spent months working to get Trump reelected. And almost certainly had a much greater impact on his election victory than either Breitbart or OAN. They tanked their reputation for some cheap headlines and still got the boot. Fuck ‘em.

Yep, we all knew they’d be the first victims of the Trump dictatorship. Hope selling out the country for a few months of “Biden old” headlines was worth it, rat bastards.

I suppose if we’re going to be Russia we needed our own RT and Pravda. Ugh… We’re so fucked.

It’s not going to hurt their bottom line, but as a matter of principle I deleted my bookmark for the LAT when their billionaire owner refused to allow the paper to endorse Harris/Walz. So this honestly doesn’t surprise me at all. Just add it to the list of reasons we need to tax billionaires out of existence.

Yep, Trump doesn’t actually want to be president he just wanted to stay out of prison. Elon Musk didn’t spend $260 million to get Trump re-elected. He paid $260 million for a shadow Presidency.

Because I'm sick of seeing the same trite "how is this satire" comments every time I post in this community, I've decided to start including the definition for everyone:
