I popped in there not too long ago and got stuck in the Drive-Thru with like 20 bazillion trucks. Thought it was odd, and then I saw the beef Tallow sign and put two and two together that Steak and shake had entered the culture wars

This was in a Costco magazine. The family used ""savings"" to start this business and then later got a military contract with the US. I wonder where that savings came from? Perhaps more family lore?
