Depriving Russia of nuclear scientists, or capable people in general, might well be worth whatever wages they brought home.

If you want to bring the inter-european war into it I'm not sure if we can afford to be unpragmatic about this. By all accounts letting Russia bleed manpower in exchange for some small wages is well worth it. If you want to deprive them of money you really need to strike at their ability to export gas and oil at inflated prices. Advancing knowledge about fusion aids that goal, though the effects are likely (hopefully?) too late to matter.

Lenovo definitely deserves to be banned after that shit they pulled with the malicious root certificates.

That same description applies to downloading a zipped file.

And at this point it's also code for 'machine learning'.

Which really is just fancy statistics. Sometimes it's barely more advanced than plain regression.

Wouldn't surprise me if even Unicode advices against using Roman numerals depending on meaning.

It was mostly a joke (though frankly if you try any implementation more complicated than that joke you're going to have a bad time).

It's simple ⅯⅯⅩⅩⅣis a number, MMXXIV is not.

If you think it has potential I'd say give the LNs a try.

At this stage you'll stand a better chance of enjoying the story by reading the LNs. So far the anime is mostly leaving stuff out without adding much to compensate. I'm only sticking around in the hopes production quality somehow picks up again.

Edit: The manga could also be worth a try, the art is a lot better.

I think humans are mostly carbon-neutral, but decomposition might release gasses that are worse than just CO2. Burning them directly would probably be better.

Yeah it's not a good adaptation. The MC's motivations come across a lot better in the LNs.

And yeah those shadows are freaking weird.

I mean Fibonacci did more or less the same thing to his work a few centuries later, so fair play I guess.

You can stick your tongue in it. Wouldn't recommend actually trying to get anything in your mouth.

You're protected by the thin layer of nitrogen that immediately sublimates, this lasts until the nitrogen heats up so the liquid can touch you directly, which you want to avoid.

For mostly the same reason you can stick a finger into molten lead (without losing said finger), provided you do it fast enough and your finger is wet enough.

If someone's licking any of the transuranic elements I'm not sticking around to watch.

Some stuff should simply not exist in a lickable quantity.
