I genuinely can't think of a better example of a modern day sophist than Jordan Peterson.

🙄 I think you'll be okay
- Mamdani: doesn't say something
- media: "do you condemn this thing you've never said?"
- Mamdani: "that's not language that I use. I believe in universal human rights, including for Israelis and Palistinians. I've heard firsthand from jewish people their experiences and fears regarding antisemitism. This is why I've committed to increasing funding for anti-hate crime programming by 800%. Unlike Trump, I will not police speech. I will speak with my actions by protecting jewish New Yorkers."
- Media here and everywhere else: "YA HEARD IT HERE FOLKS MAMDANI IS ANTISEMITIC" 🙄 give me a break, who the hell listens to this garbage
jfc. And here I was thinking that that audio clip of Ken Martin literally fucking crying at David Hogg would amount to anything. These people have the utmost contempt for their constituents, it is absolutely ridiculous. They would LITERALLY rather America succumb to a fascist takeover than begin to call out their own, or oppose their corporate donors. The average democratic voter has more balls and patriotism than these people. Words cannot describe how insanely livid this makes me, neolibs can suck my fucking balls.
- there is no way to search a channel’s videos on the mobile app
It is baffling to me that they just... never implemented this? Like why???
I'll add that everything about playlists is really dumb, which is a shame because they could be good. Why not treat playlists the way streaming services treat tv shows? Remember which episode I was on, and make it easy to find on the homepage with a "continue watching" option.
Also, the "watch later" playlist is a good idea but why don't the videos automatically remove themselves after I've watched them? Why doesn't the watch later playlist appear at the top of the suggested videos or something? Instead it's hidden in a jumbled mess of playlists that I have to manually find. OH AND ALSO WHY ARE MY CUSTOM PLAYLISTS INTERMIXED WITH OTHER PLAYLISTS I'VE SAVED.
And the progress bar gradient is so ugly jfc. It's one of those things that screams bored middle management decision making. And from a branding perspective, when has YouTube ever been off-pink? I know it's minor but genuinely how did that slip through the cracks.
Maybe "the 2038 problem" will be the new Y2K?!
Sheng Wang is hilarious, I think his humor would align well with a lot of people here. He has a special on Netflix worth checking out
Benn Jordan is one of my favorite people on the internet, glad to see him getting shared here. Such a genuinely smart and interesting dude.
The thing is, modders are Bethesda's most die-hard fans, and Bethesda games have some of the largest modding communities in the world. Many of these modding projects have taken an extraordinary amount of effort from an extraordinary amount of people. For them to not communicate and work with the community at all is a big slap in the face because modders have given people a reason to continue purchasing their games and keeping their business relevant.
Is Bethesda obligated to work with modders to try and help with backwards compatibility? Not legally, no. But their lack of effort is rightfully leaving a sour taste in many people's mouths.
To your last point, I'm sure you didn't mean it intentionally but that is a straw man argument; nobody is claiming that every single mod needs to be compatible with Bethesda's updates. However, if Bethesda at the very least communicated and worked with the community even a little bit, they could make the task of updating mods substantially easier. Instead, they chose not to, and now countless of hours of work will be wasted because so many people will not find it worthwhile to update their mods to be compatible with the new version. It's extremely unfortunate.
Right? I cannot believe how consistently toxic ig comments are, even on the most unsuspecting videos. I'm surprised this isn't talked about more often. The constant sexism is just jading. Negative comments skyrocket to the top of the comment section because they get the most replies, and there is no down voting functionality. But I think it's gotten slightly better recently? I wonder if the limiting of political content has anything to do with it. Maybe ig is actually trying to improve their platform.
