Very true and fully agree

You seem very knowledgeable I humbly request you offer to help those groups: PostmarketOS, Linux Mint, etc to create a group that focuses on getting partnerships in the way you suggested (Giving them the say explanation you gave me). You can do some and everyone else can do some too. Doesn't have to take up a lot of your time and would help in every way literally. Can develop pipeline for volunteers so you don't have to eventually either

Yup and that's why double gerrymandering will be way worse if it succeeds

There should be more on https://alternativeto.net/ when you search "DeepL" for alternatives

Since many are listed here but I am sure there are more

Very true but you can dual wield that watch with an actual full-blown open source smart watch when the full one becomes a thing

Interesting I'll check them out appreciate the suggestion too

Will for sure do the last part to support Proton, and developer time in those Linux phone solutions they have covered. Just trying to figure out the new hardware too so we are not locked out fully from new tech

Great points non so no worries! Aren't they partnering with a new OEM though? But I guess that would probably still have the same problem

Thinking to put together a website of what people have suggested in various posts to develop this initiative more overtime in various ways. Any other problems you can think of?

Appreciate it! Do you mean the FSF Librephone? It's not a new phone in case you didn't know. They clarified that the project will be to make the proprietary code blobs of a couple android phone into something FOSS so it can truly be used fully for FOSS development

That makes a lot of sense. So really we would need to make a database of local e-shops and then partner up to have phones sold. That is a genius plan to get into the public eye

Best thing is to use Open Source AI if people must since those are way better than the proprietary ones

I agree with the sentiment in a way to not endlessly want but the actual best thing that leads to happiness, fulfillment, and way more is:

Hope https://www.goodgoodgood.co/articles/hope-key-in-meaningful-life

Hope that your life will be alright. Hope that people will and are working together. Hope that the planet gets better. Hope that your relationship will continue to grow. Add that with purpose, action, and consistency then that is a well-lived life

I was trying to think for a couple days on what can be done to make Linux phones a reality. Then I realized the EU is already pushing for more Open Source/ Linux to be made so why not make the most of it?

So if I may make a couple suggestions for Europe Linux enthusiasts and collectively all of us to push for:

1st. For EU and Europe to partner up with PostmarketOS, Mobian, Ubuntu Touch, and FSF Librephone Project to fund/produce/distribute open source repairable changable OS linux phones . Then for future tablets.

2nd. For EU and Europe to partner up with KDE, Framework, and Tuxedo Computers to fund/produce/distribute Laptops/Computers

Linux Community over there has so much ability to grow Linux if everyone there collectively gets it done. I humbly request you do that and I’ll do the same. Who should I call to get all this going as well? Want to help do this in a way that benefits all sides while keeping those projects independent

(I would have posted this on LinuxPhone but this community is way bigger and still open source related)

Really hoping all of you in and out of Europe and EU can push for it to be done.

So if I may make a couple suggestions for Europe Linux enthusiasts and collectively all of us to push for:

1st. For EU and Europe to partner up with PostmarketOS, Mobian, Ubuntu Touch, Edited In: Next Iteration of GrapheneOS for their partnership, and FSF Librephone Project to fund/produce/distribute open source repairable changable OS linux phones . Then for future tablets. To have multiple eggs developing

2nd. For EU and Europe to partner up with KDE, Framework, and Tuxedo Computers to fund/produce/distribute Laptops/Computers

Edited In: 3rd. Partner up with OEM Manufacturers such as Nokia and Motorola. Both of whom have good track records

Linux Community over there has so much ability to grow Linux if everyone there collectively gets it done. I humbly request you do that and I’ll do the same. Really hoping all of you in and out of Europe and EU can push for it to be done. Edited In: Maybe Latin, African, and Asian Countries can partner up as well to make it happen even faster. But the most protections are within the EU so far
