This has long been the problem with NATO requirements - the US has expected the money to funnel to them. If anything, Canada's NATO money should be spent in Canada.
Isn't the US way behind in their contributions to the UN?
Plus NATO wouldn't need as much spending if the US wasn't continually instigating wars around the world to appease their oligarchs. Has there been a war anywhere in the world in the last 80 years that didn't have CIA fingerprints all over it?

I think he means the other way around. 300bil from Canada to the USA...
I'm sure that's what he thinks. But considering the supposed budget shortfall is money we didn't spend on our own military, I'd say Tillis either doesn't understand what NATO is supposed to be, or he understands very clearly but can't be bothered to keep the fact that it's a protection racket on the down low.

It’s not a zero sum game but American politicians and healthcare companies want you to believe that.
A US senator should know better that it’s not a binary choice between health and military that got them in their mess.
Maybe USA should consider not instigating stuff for oil and regime change everywhere.
Maybe we could spend 1% of that making his life miserable
