Dane here, and you better believe we don't appreciate having our culture misappropriated by rejects from the shallow end of the gene-pool.

Everybody but Nazi scum are more than welcome to appropriate the hell out of it though, because the only things more badass than a viking is either A) A black viking (I bet those beards will braid real nice) or B) A ninja viking. Go nuts.

And ofc a Swedish viking. After the black viking though, but obviously before the hrm danish one. 😋

I was at a Wiccan festival and the Norse wiccans hated this shit. Cool folks, damn shame they had to make me take my shirt off to make sure I wasn’t a fascist

In that case, you might enjoy a little Heilung

Ah, Vikings, who were well known for their cultural sensitivity...

[–] PugJesus@piefed.social 9 points 1 day ago

Don't have to be known for their cultural sensitivity for an 18th century AD imposition of identity created by the Transatlantic Slave Trade to be utterly invalid and irrelevant, and repugnant besides, when discussing the Norse.

They traded and intermarried many places they went. The 'raping and pillaging' is not a complete and accurate account of vikings.

Same with Anglo Saxons, Celts and Byzantines
