Hope Rust programmers got their tetanus shots

[–] hakunawazo@lemmy.world 16 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Programming in Rust is safer than filming Rust.

[–] marcos@lemmy.world 12 points 3 days ago

Go prove nobody ever died programing in Rust.

[–] SanndyTheManndy@lemmy.kya.moe 4 points 3 days ago

A tetanus shot to the arm and a rusted nail through the foot, aye. Still wrestling with the borrow checker tho.

A radioactive spider iirc. So a radioactive python bite would lead to what superpowers, exactly?

learning how to code in python...
...but without jank, sphaghetti code and bugs

[–] TeddE@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

The ability to scale and to be able to recite pi to more digits?

[–] MajorMajormajormajor@lemmy.ca 1 points 3 days ago

Scales and super slither powers.

[–] mkwt@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago (3 children)

The programming language is named after the comedy troupe, not the snake.

[–] MajorMajormajormajor@lemmy.ca 9 points 3 days ago (2 children)

How did they train snakes to perform a comedy routine?

[–] hakunawazo@lemmy.world 5 points 3 days ago

A snake moves at least with a silly walk naturally.

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Pretty sure snakes don't code either? Are the Monty Python guys big coders?

[–] MajorMajormajormajor@lemmy.ca 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I don't think they spoke in code too often.

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Now Lucifer in the Bible was a snake and spoke in a sort of riddle? Not sure if that's anything?

[–] MajorMajormajormajor@lemmy.ca 2 points 3 days ago

We solved the case!

[–] Sabata11792@ani.social 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

So, you have to get bitten by Monty Python?

[–] Valmond@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

A radio active one. I heard they were on the BBC.

[–] lugal@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

And what are Monty Python named after?

[–] mkwt@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Monty Python is technically a proper name, but they went with the snake, because they wanted a last name that "sounded slippery."

"Monty" may or may not be a reference to Field Marshal Montgomery, from world wars 1 and 2.

[–] lugal@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 3 days ago

they went with the snake

I knew it

[–] Valmond@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

So maybe I was bitten by sea.

[–] notreallyhere@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

I tried to get month python to bite me, but it didn't work

[–] itkovian@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago (4 children)

Just for reference, Pythons don't bite.

[–] sirico@feddit.uk 30 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Yeah, they do, they're just not venomous. Their toofs are grippy. This method also works for Golang, rust is easier because you just get a bit of a pinch

In the feels?

A Thai man was bitten on the testicles by a 12-foot python while he sat on the toilet

Oh no! Oh no no no, that's way worse! Way worse!!!

He definitely feels it.

[–] Tehhund@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Feels are stored in the balls.

(Right next to the pee)

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

To be honest, loving someone with all your balls is a very deep feeling, even if people don't want to hear it.

But I don't love pythons!

[–] MadMadBunny@lemmy.ca 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Is that a python in your trousers or are you just happy to see me?

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

I just happen to have an erection while we're greeting. I'll go take care of it in a sec. How are Susie and the kids?

[–] expatriado@lemmy.world 13 points 3 days ago

that what my neighbor said about her Chihuahua named Python....

[–] tal@lemmy.today 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

They're not venomous, but I bet that you could convince one to bite you.

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

I bet you can't.

[–] Lembot_0005@lemy.lol -4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Python? Superpowers? Guido-BASIC nerfs any programmer to a monkey-go-brrrrr level.

[–] _stranger_@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

You might be thinking of golang

[–] Lembot_0005@lemy.lol 1 points 3 days ago

monkey-go-lang is slightly different :)
