The Always Stumbling US Empire
The Iraq War was a success for the US. It achieved its minimalist goals of destabilizing the region, which still pays dividends to this day. I don't think Syria would have fallen if not for ISIS, which the US invasion of Iraq basically created.

Lastly, I don't usually think too much about coincidences, but on Sunday I had a clear, out-of-the-blue, thought of "Huh, Dick Cheney is still alive right? That fuckin' sucks..." and I'm extra happy that I never have to have that thought again 
When I was depressed, I once told myself that if I just stay alive long enough I would get to see the day Dick Cheney died. 
Finally some good fucking news. I needed that.

Ugh, it sucks that there are probably about to be a whole bunch of articles coming out mourning him and claiming that itβs not ok to celebrate his way too late death.

Normally this sort of joke is fun but in this case I find it very distasteful and somewhat upsetting. I really do not like this sort of joke for Dick Cheney. The man murdered over a million Muslims and it's gross to even imagine him converting or being accepted as a convert on his deathbed. For a comparably gross joke, imagine someone saying "Hitler converted to Judaism in the bunker".
If God is real, Cheney must burn in Hell for there to be any semblance of justice.
