At some point over the last few months these people sat in a room, behind closed doors, and came up with a strategy. They see it as a tremendous opportunity to capture the pro-police, pro-order conservatives who are outraged at the government overreach occurring. After 2020, they want to further rehabilitate the image of Democrats hating police. If they win in 2028 they will tell ICE that they were just following orders. The dept had been taken over by unsavory bad actors and that's over now. They will push actual diversity hires so that cover up the inherent racism of ICE. They will say a lot of stuff about how this isn't who we are as a nation and that ICE can serve a better purpose, combating foreign threats than domestic. Dems will show their commitment to law and order by expanding ICE in regards to contracting big tech. They will push that agents be unmasked and that they are to identify themselves as agents. That will quietly disappear from the media and never be implemented. They will re-appoint at least one person from Trump's appointments.
You can trust that the Democrats-as-2004-Republicans under Trump 1 are fading away to be replaced by Democrats-as-2008-Libertarians under Trump 2. They will frame any investigation or act on Trump in constitutional bullshit and limited government philosophy. They will slide to the right.

This is perfect. It is a wonderful and beautiful encapsulation of everything the Democrats stand for. The liberal masses are unable to read through the lines on shit like this; they likely don't even wonder what is not being said here. The "masked men" narrative is one they've been spinning since the ICE raids began. Gruesome Newsom is out there passing anti-masking laws for law enforcement agents, as if that's what sits at the core of people's issues. Agencies like ICE get bipartisan support. Border and immigration enforcement are effectively identical between both parties. The only thing that changes between the two is the visibility of the policy. We are a nation that runs on spectacle, and this statement from Eric Swalwell is like a cell in the larger germ that constitutes the Democrats entire modus operandi. We build an outrage narrative about how disgusting it is that ICE dares hide their faces, as a way to subvert the actual grievance at hand, then implement a solution to this manufactured grievance that presents the illusion of progress. It ignores the fundamental reality that laws can only be enforced when the enforcers care about the law. The media have no incentive to discuss the realities of the situation in the same way that the commentators on the sidelines of a WWE event have no incentive to discuss the skillful choreography being displayed by the wrestlers in the ring. Part of enjoying a royal rumble is the immersion, being taken in by the story lines and believing that they're real, and breaking that illusion would transform this live sporting event into a kind of ballet. When the Democrats have the majority, it'll be their time to write the script, decide who is the face, and who becomes the heel, set the stakes, and drive the drama. All while quietly working backstage to ensure that nothing materially changes.
And we won't even get that. Once democrats are in power they will warm up some narrative about ICE deporting violent gang members, how taking off masks puts ICE officers at danger, and this time the libs and the media will just eat it up with pleasure.
The democrats will make sure that someone signs a piece of paper saying it is ok for them to wear masks.

Not that long ago, someone posted that ICE agent doxxing page, and it had the text "Real police don't wear masks" on it

I have to say they are doing stuff I wouldn't have considered putting in parodies. Truly great stuff. On the same day - Hakeem Jeffries and Governor Billionaire both mentioned statute of limitations and ICE crimes. They said if the democrats grab power - in theory ICE might be held accountable as soon as 2029 because statute of limitations wouldn't have run out.
"We did keep increasing their funding after Trump left office the first time, and we allowed them to indefinitely detain migrants while also arguing they did not have the right to a speedy trial while continuing basically everything Trump did, but we promise we won't do anything like that again"

The complaints about masks, due process, brutality, is so irritating because yes that's terrible but misses the point that this agency shouldn't exist at all! A bipartisan white-supremacist paramilitary force is waging a low-grade campaign of racial purifiying and they must be stopped.
