Even the cats maintain gaps when it's not strictly necessary. Remember this if you ever feel awkward leaving a space at the cinema, sports event or urinal!

Well, except the orange ones in the front, but they're orange, so they don't count

Young orange cat off in the distance: "Don't you guys ever wonder about loafing on other roofs?"

That looks like it is super comfortable for the kitties.

Is this AI? Why does it look so weird.

[–] Skua@kbin.earth 16 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Definitely not AI as copies of it have been posted on the internet as early as 2019. I think it has been taken as a panorama, resulting in that effect where the top ridge of the roof appears to be bending away from the camera

I'll take your word for it!

Nothing in this looks weird or like AI to me. Its exceedingly rare to find AI here on Lemmy. I'd turn down the AI paranoia a bit.

This is kinda the issue is anything slightly out of the ordinary now get's labeled as AI. I showed my friend a picture I myself took the other day, and they asked "is that AI"?

I think it’s a real potato quality image that has then been “upscaled” with some crapy tensor algorithm. It’s especially obvious from the squinty cat faces with no whiskers as well as the acid trip to the bottom left of the satellite dish.

I feel you, man. Any image that I don't remember seeing before 2022 gets an asterisk from me, and I hate having to do that.
And even then, before AI there were two decades of Photoshop, but the current stream of synthetic tripe is like a fireman's hose, and now even with videos.

Asbestos kitties! Anyone cuddling these cats will be snuffling the asbestos fibres deep into their lungs; how much, depending on how weathered the AC sheeting is.

One of them is new at the job :D

Room for more!

Slightly off topic, but: This image reminded me of when I was a kid, and I was in my father's village, me and my older brother climb to the roof area (like via stairs, not actual climbing), the roof is a flat area, and we hopped over tk a neighbor's house which was angles/tilted like shown in this photo. There was a window (either a roof window or skylight) from the top to let in sunlight, I could see inside their house lol I was afraid to fall off the side or crash into the glass window and fall inside.

I can't recall any cats from my memory, but I was told that the villages all had cats to keep out mice. They are mostly outdoor cats that people just feed occasionally to keep them coming back and continue getting rid of mice.

I remember, in one of my parent's villages (probably in my mother's village), I was just chilling and lying on the ground, while adults chatting sitting in chairs outside, I gazed upon the stars, according to my memory, it was probably the last time I ever saw a clear night sky, since in Urban China, its practically impossible to see the stars, too much pollution and barely any trees in the city. Even now in the US, its very difficult to see the stars. I mean... I love technology, but maybe we should have a holiday to just turn off all the lights once a year, just to see the night sky, like just for fun maybe.
