Goading america into an environmentalist equivalent of the space race under the idea it shows off who is the greatest is probably a better tactic than begging them to not be such huge fuckheads.

In the past the headlines would have been more like, "why wind turbines of this size are doomed to fail according to wind power experts at the Liberty University"

Give it time. It's the first cycle through the news.

Voice of America is dead. I feel like its been a while since I've seen a major news article about social media comments from Chinese people saying life is a struggle that gets huge run in the US. This year reminded me of being in hotels in the the southern US running fox news on their televisions where it'd be 30 minutes of talking heads raging about what a leftist comment said in Yahoo news article. I feel like we may already be seeing the effects of the death of voice of America. Suddenly all the evil countries and their people in the world seem less evil and most everyone's just going along with waves from the powerful

This is a different thing, but this combines two things that make Americans lose their mind. Wind power and balloons:

That's pretty badass, 15MW is considered standard for a large offshore wind turbine and this one is 26MW, the largest in the world. Damn

So realistically how long do we have to wait until China starts trying to diplomatically isolate us and embargo us to help us realize that our evil corrupt bourgeois dictatorship must be violently overthrown?

God I hate the press. The news has nothing to do with "the US", and yahoo picked that out of a web comment and put it in their headline.

Here's the original source: https://electrek.co/2025/08/29/china-installs-the-worlds-most-powerful-wind-turbine/

Burgerland: this could have been us.

But porky was too ‘eepy to make some jobs, so he chose to twiddle his thumbs instead.

I already get megalophobia when I drive past a regular wind turbine. This sounds terrifying and awesome.

They should put seats on it and a really big ladder
