Ooh the key that wrecked video games for decades!
Linux
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

Ok now remove fast boot and TPM
Bootloader? Not sure my laptop support it
my kb came with mac keys too so i replaced win key with command, i hate it less
same…. and that stupid “copilot” button thing… (this is so useless)
i’m gonna turn it to a hotkey or something lol.
My Thinkpad has the Windows logo on the bottom bezel under the display, as well as this. Mostly doesn't bother me, but it does feel a bit wrong for a laptop that all traces of Windows have otherwise been erased from.
I sort of like that on my ThinkPad though. It reminds me of the defiance shown in liberating the laptop from its grim past life.
I have both the windows key for meta and the apple key for alt on my keyboard which balances eachother out I think
I recently bought my first mechanical keyboard, after having used my razer for 8 years, and i was looking into different keycaps, but i ended up having a hard time finding a good keycap set that is of good quality, and that i also liked in terms of colors, and has a super key or something like that. The keycaps that i ended up settling on didn't have a super key, so i just ended up putting the windows menu key on the super key, so that it atleast looks a bit more generic than the actual windows key. It's too bad they're hard to find, but i guess it makes sense since there is probably very little demand for it. Another idea is to maybe put a sticker on it or something.
True, I've been looking through AliExpress for a good Linux based keycaps but didn't find anything, sticker is probably my only option
If I was living alone, I would buy blank keycaps.
Yep, I have a Framework 16 that was ordered with no OS and yet it came with that key on the keyboard.
could just replace it, no? Unless your keyboard is weird, the size of window key is pretty standard right?
Not as easy on a laptop, like this is. Usually a pain in the ass to replace laptop chicklet keyboard keys, if you can even find a replacement without a windows icon
Cast it into the fire!
If I cared that much, I could have bought a blank keycap for an extra buck when I bought my keyboard and banished that thing forever. (I own a Unicomp New Model M 103-key, which only has one Windows key to begin with, and the manufacturer will happily sell you blank or custom-text keycaps. Unfortunately, while they do sell a set that includes Tux keycaps, they're sized for a 104-key.)
Throw away that key and get another one with a pinguin instead ;)
If it that easy ;_;
Doesn't have to be
For me its just the window key, with a window on it for the window manager
Acetone should do the trick
Windows G Enable
Hmm but it doesn't force ads down your throat so can you really say it is part of Windows?
Super key? That’s not Window’s specfic, it’s just a logo.
Wow
That should be easy to replace.
And if not, maybe take the money you saved on a Windows licence and treat yourself to a better keyboard. It's worth spending a bit on your primary input device, the thing you use the most.
Like what? I'm looking for a full keyboard (100%? With numpad) what are your suggestions?
A lot of diehards like Unicomp for the typing feel, and I was very tempted since I used an IBM Model M for ages. But honestly they're pretty ugly.
Now I run an older fullsize GMMK with Kailh switches (bronze) and it's great. There are a zillion similar customizable KBs these days though.
