Haibane Renmei. For a show that's 23 years old with only 13 episodes, I manage to hear new and unique opinions about it like once a week
It's a perfect anime for people who like anime, but not, like, anime anime

Finally started watching Mindhunters after years of reading glowing reviews and.... totally get it. Can't stop watching.
NBC shouldn't have cancelled The Pretender days after that explosive cliff hanger!
I have decided to see all Star Trek series.
I have gone through The Original Series. The Animated Series and now doing The next Generation about half way through season 5!
I am sending this to my kids, who have crushed hard on:
X files
Bones
Supernatural
Killing Eve
Friends
Probably ten more I am forgetting
Honestly I think they have watched more 1990/2000s TV than I ever did, I was too busy raising them & their siblings.
Not exactly niche, but I like to watch the red green show when I can catch it on
I believe it is on Tubi, free to watch with some adds.
I rather enjoyed Hung from HBO
Yes, what a great time for escapism.
Is Penny Dreadful considered niche?
Barney Miller
Stargate SG-1, then the others lol
Will & Grace?
I remember that show! Jack and Karen amused me
I'm about to jump into The Twilight Zone from 1959.
Where will he go next? This phantom from another time, this resurrected ghost of a previous nightmare. Chicago? Los Angeles? Miami, Florida? Vincennes, Indiana? Syracuse, New York? Anyplace, everyplace, where there's hate, where there's prejudice, where there's bigotry. He's alive. He's alive so long as these evils exist. Remember that when he comes to your town. Remember it when you hear his voice speaking out through others. Remember it when you hear a name called, a minority attacked, any blind, unreasoning assault on a people or any human being. He's alive because, through these things, we keep him alive.
I've always been meaning to go through and do a serious watch of that in order.
Red Dwarf, I used to watch it with my dad while he was alive.
Have you read the books? The first two make the show look like a pile of wet garbage, and I love the show.
It's cold outside...
There's no kind of atmosphere
I'm all alone, more or less...
firefly
Corner gas!! Basically "Friends" with different people in Canda.
The Littlest Hobo
That's an amazing show
For me, it's got to be the original 'The 4400' which also has a recent reboot, but that isn't as great. It's only a few seasons since it was unfortunately canceled.
I started watching it on a whim and was surprised by how in-depth some of the sci-fi ideas and moral quandries are, and the character development is fairly solid as well. When you consider that most of the actors aren't big names or unknowns (at least at that time, as it includes young Mahershala Ali), it makes it feel extremely liminal. Like most shows of the early 2000s, they tend to go for that 'creature of the week' format but also manage to have an overarching narrative.
Ended way too soon! :(
Pushing Daisies! I love it so much.
Oh man, that was a good one
Undergrads, it's a damn shame they only made 13 episodes
Fringe, life on mars(both American and British versions)
Over The Garden Wall.
I watch that show yearly when fall comes around.
It's so good. And the soundtrack is great too, except IIRC it's missing the thrilling chase music or something.
