Probably a bad idea that you purged everyone in law enforcement who was good at their job but not a chud.

[–] scantron@lemmy.zip 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Why find them when you can keep a boogie man in your back pocket for when times call for one?

The culprit was found to be Luigi Mangione. When questioned in his holding cell whether he was in Utah at the time, police noted he became “very nervous, visibly shaking”. A manifesto was found in possession.

Case closed.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 29 points 2 days ago

I heard they found the gun in Luigi's backpack. He hasn't touched the backpack in months, and he's been locked up all this time, which only proves how diabolical he really is.

Considering they went after kirk instead of a bigger fish it's probably somebody deeply personally offended by his minimization of school shootings. That should just narrow it down to all the people who survived a school shooting or lost somebody to one. That's a short list right?

[–] apftwb@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago

They found the shooter. Its the entirety of Chicago.

Meaning they don't think the person who shot him was black, trans or had mental health issues.

[–] inclementimmigrant@lemmy.world 28 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (2 children)

Well according to the community forum for my crazy neighborhood it's definitely a minority trans person who did this.

Also all mass shootings were done by trans people. Not even joking.

[–] slaneesh_is_right@lemmy.org 18 points 2 days ago

Trans people are like sub 1% of the us population. These guys are busy.

I really don't understand how you can actually believe something like that. Because of my wild 20's i happen to know a lot of trans or gay or LGBTQ people in general, or more than the average person. If they were that violent, i would know so many murderers. In reality they are just the nicest people imaginable. I get that they obviously don't know trans people, probably have never seen one, or if they did, they didn't even know. But even that fact should make you wonder, no? I was at work and some random guy complained about how many jews live here and why that's a problem, and i just thought that i don't even know any jew. I worked for one once, and every now and then i see three or four walking around, but only recognise them because they are orthodox and dress like amish people. I actually had to look it up and in and around the next city, there are only 2000 jews, like what are you on about?

My man Luigi should've waited a couple months for the new administration to come in before doing it. Would've 100% gotten away with it too.

[–] Wilco@lemmy.zip 28 points 1 day ago

Luigi is not guilty. He doesn't have anything he needs to get away with.

[–] barnaclebutt@lemmy.world 173 points 2 days ago (6 children)

Unfortunately, all of the competent people at the FBI left already.

Also, don't forget that Trump very likely fucked a child and is covering it up. Release the Epstein tapes...

[–] SPRUNT@lemmy.world 66 points 2 days ago

"a child"? Trump and Epstein were best friends for decades. Trump almost certainly fucked many multiple children.

Looking forward to a disproportionate amount of resources being dedicated to finding this guy's killer because he was popular.

America is a joke and its working class is the punchline.

I think the shooter was good, but not a professional. They knew enough to sight in their scope accurately, but not enough to account for bullet drop. Nobody aims for the neck. Odds are he was aiming for the head. If you zero in your sight for 100 yards, the bullet can drop 3 or 4 inches once it gets to 200. And he seems to have disappeared without a trace, so he planned it well. I assume he cleaned up after himself. Odds are they'll never find him.

[–] SethTaylor@lemmy.world 24 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

Him? You mean they/them, right? Cause it was obviously a far-left transgender liberal progressive with blue hair. The whole GOP said so on Twitter. Surely they can't be using this death to trigger more violence, can they?

Yeah, a lot of people have been going on about "he must have had sniper training" and I'm like no man, 200 yards is a pretty normal shot for a hunter. Heck I've shot deer at 150 with iron sights.

I'm inclined to agree with you on the whole probably just a guy who went to the range that fell down a rabbit hole.

[–] Crozekiel@lemmy.zip 22 points 1 day ago (5 children)

I saw someone saying he must have been a professional because he "hit a spot smaller than a quarter from 200 yards"... Like, my dude, you are assuming the goal was to hit that exact spot? Every bullet "hits a spot smaller than a quarter" from every range. I agree this wasn't likely to be the first time this person held or shot a rifle, but he also doesn't need to be Jason Bourne...

Charlie Kirk. Kirk, 31, was the CEO...

He was only 31?

Geezus. Hate really does age you. I'm over 10 years his senior, and he looks 5 years older than me. And for once, this isn't a humble-brag.

K.

In other news, Republicans blocked release of the Epstein files.

Where's the Epstein files and why is trump and Republicans covering it up?

I guess the shooter is camping somewhere in the woods in the wider Utah forests area 🏕

  • hard to find
  • has thrown away the gun already
[–] ChickenLadyLovesLife@lemmy.world 29 points 1 day ago (1 children)

has thrown away the gun already

No way, I'm sure he's kept the gun with him, along with a hard copy of his manifesto, just like Luigi did! It's just what you do after you assassinate somebody.

[–] m4xie@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 day ago

And the fake ID that was allegedly used to check into the hotel room and rent the e-bike or whatever it was.

[–] rumba@lemmy.zip 15 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Hey Fred, do we still have that manifesto and gun we used with Mangione? I think we're gonna need it again.

Luigi Lawyer: Guess Luigi isn't the killer since the same gun killed someone else while he was in custody!

[–] prosecute_traitors@lemmy.zip 11 points 1 day ago (5 children)

Why would they need to do that? Just go to a gun show. Conduct a "private purchase" of a Mauser. Kill some vermin. Go back to live your life. The gun probably isn't connected to that person in any traceable way.

And the conspiracy theories are are already flowing. Apparently Kirk was convinced Israel was going to assassinate him so he had more security and wore body armor during public appearances recently. Another is that he pissed off the Nazi's to the point they wanted him gone. Another is that it was a distraction op.

It's been a fun read the last few hours. Like "Who Shot Mr. Burns?" so....it was probably a baby.

They don't even know where the shot was fired from, apparently.

It'd be amazing if they literally never figure this one out. There'll be conspiracy theories forever.

[–] Zaktor@sopuli.xyz 96 points 2 days ago (16 children)

I dunno, for all the alt-right frothing, Charlie Kirk doesn't seem like someone anyone will think about even a month from now, let alone set up a pin board for.

He deserved what he got, but if I was making a list of worthy targets I'd probably forget to add him.

Led by "it was clearly suicide" Kash Patel. While all evidence slipped away, they had the wrong guy in custody for 6 hours. This was a critical window but a bunch of sycophant gravy seals are not going to figure this out.

The assassin will never be caught. Law enforcement couldn't solve a crossword puzzle if the answer is not handed to them directly.

You mean the same FBI that just got purged of competence in exchange for loyalists? Oh my.

[–] Snowclone@lemmy.world 48 points 2 days ago (7 children)

They're looking for a white male ages 14 to 79 in Utah. So. Basically looking for a needle in a stack of several million needles.
