As someone who is interested in 3D printers, but doesn't have one yet: I have absolutely no clue what I'm looking at 🤔

Looks like a filament runout sensor, and there is a tiny tiny little bit of extra filament sticking out the top right. If the print had needed a little bit more filament, it would have pulled through the sensor and the machine would have reported it had run out of filament and paused the print.
Essentially flying really fucking close to the sun and somehow making it by the skin of their teeth.
Skill baby! /Joking, pure luck
Perfect, thank you! 😃👍
I have 2 3d printers and I don't know either.
Thank you for making me feel less stupid 😊❤️
It's a filament runout sensor and OP literally used every last millimeter of their filament spool - like driving your car until the gas light comes on and then making it to the gas station with fumes to spare lol.
May you be touched by His Noodly Appendage ❤️
It's a filament runout sensor. It's a limit switch that will pause the print if it detects there isn't enough filament to continue so that you can feed in a new spool without having to watch it the whole time.
Thank you! 😃👌
There's still a lot of filament sitting in the Bowden tube between your sensor and the hotend.
This is the way. When I got an ACE I thought that I'd be doing multi-colured prints all the time. How wrong I was. The ability to automatically move to a new reel of filament when one runs out is a game-changer though.
